Looking at http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/wolfenstein/et-linux-2.60.x86.run it looks like it really wants to start a terminal emulator. It is possible that you don't have any of the terminal emulators that the startup script is looking for. Perhaps 'apt-get install xterm' would help.

23:41|-|manphiz` changed nick to manphiz

23:43<beatrise>so now it says that i may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
23:43<Solver>you can go ahead and do it (or aptitude update)
23:44<Solver>sometimes I've seen minor inconsistencies in dependencies like that
23:44<beatrise>but when i run apt-get update, the same message reappears
23:44<Solver>I haven't necessarily found it to be a major problem
23:44<Solver>Leave it for now :)
23:44<beatrise>cool
23:44<Solver>you should still be able to install packages
23:44<Solver>Debian's package management system is so huge I've seen the occassional oddness
