04:15<OdyX>Hi. I get frequent "ssh timeouts" when connecting to my servers. My openssh-{client,server} are up to date (etch, lenny or sid, but up-to-date) and I had not this before. I trigger the ssh timeouts with "ServerAliveInterval" but before, I just had my ssh session "hanging". Any idea ?

15:06<SaintK>Good evening
15:06<SaintK>I just tried to ask this question in #perl, but no one seems to be there, so i hope you don't mind asking me in here
15:06<SaintK> I've just installed Debian Etch, and after ran CPAN, now with every module which i try to install i get the following error; 'Running make test - Can't test without successful make - Running make install - make had returned bad status, install seems impossible' , but it does not display any error whatsoever on what it exactly fails. Any idea's on how to solve this?
15:06<dondelelcaro>SaintK: you almost certainly don't need to install modules directly with cpan.
15:06<SaintK>I tried several solutions found on google, such as installing build essentionals etc, but that doesn't seem to work
15:06<dondelelcaro>SaintK: most of the modules you're looking for are already packaged, and you can just install them directly.
15:06<SaintK>dondelelcaro: modules, scripts, not sure how u call em
15:07<SaintK>The command i seem to need to use is 'perl -MCPAN -e 'install Bundle::LWP''
15:07<SaintK>Can i also find these packages using aptitude somehow ?
15:07<dondelelcaro>SaintK: so aptitude install libwww-perl
15:08<dondelelcaro>SaintK: apt-cache search LWP perl; is your friend.
15:09<SaintK>thanks! Gonna give it a try.
15:09<lostone>i cant seem to password protect grub. the file "/sbin/grub-md5-crypt" doesn't seem to exist. is this something i need to install manually?
