06:50<hybridtheory> /etc/X11/xorg.conf is not in squeeze
06:52<prahal>hybridtheory, well it could not be there as it is not needed for newer xorg though I wonder why you do not have it ... as using fglrx requires it afaik

06:53<prahal>hybridtheory, could you pastebin /var/log/Xorg.0.log ?
06:53<prahal>pastebinit is handy to do so
06:54<hybridtheory>ok, i will see
06:57<hybridtheory> /var/log/Xorg.0.log, yes, it is, and what need I to do in order compiz goes?
06:58<prahal>nothing to change in it ... It is only usefull to see what xorg believe is your config
06:59<prahal>it could be that you ll have to remove fglrx completely ... as it also replaces part of the 3D stack (mesa) ... which I dislike but hey proprietary drivers do what they want
07:00<prahal>to achieve fast delivery but afterwards it ends up not being maintained in the long run (thus breaks on upgrade of anything)
07:00<prahal>or at best it lags behing and breaks for a few months every now and then
07:01<hybridtheory>well, as I am now in another compu, so I am taking note , prahal
07:02<hybridtheory>maybe in a week it runs, hehe
07:03<hybridtheory>but I've stuck with this topic 2 months .....

13:19<Hillaballoo>afternoon all. I've got a DL180 G6 and debian 5.0.3 AMD64 won't detect the E1000 building network adapters. Apparently a number of other linux distros detect them just fine. Someone posted to the mailing lists back in August, everyone insisted there were broadcom drivers in the box (which is not true), then no solution was offered.

15:13<dpkg>usb is probably (Universal Serial Bus) A technology that has replaced the way that some peripheral devices connect to a computer. It is much faster than serial and parallel communications. 15:30<locklace>ggrelias: lots of ways. there's probably an entry in /etc/default for it; if not just remove or rename the link in the appropriate /etc/rc?.d directory, or stick "exit 0" at the top of the nfs start script in /etc/init.d
