16:08<mic_p>Hi all. I'm receiving a segfault with "udevadm info". My system is debian unstable, libc6 2.10.2-2, kernel 2.6.31-1, udev 149-1. What can I do?
16:08<themill>sam_: what version of debian is this? can you pastebin the output of "aptitude search ~nlib-gnome"

16:10<sam_>and it doesn't print anything

19:47<Gunther>i was just wondering at the partition advices that recommend splitting the hard disk into separate partitions for /home /var and a few more. i was searching for the idea behind this, but the only thing i could come up with was holding back system upgrades of vulnerable software (to a fixed version) by creating a hard link (this wouldn't work over two partitions). is this truly the reason or is there something i've missed?
