01:39<ablock>chealer, even if it's not a bug, i don't think most people would like that ;)
01:40<ablock>when the cable is plugged in, the laptop never goes into suspend...which is desired due to the "performance" profile
01:40<ablock>if you unplug it, you would never expect it to go into suspend
01:42-!-kneet [] has joined #debian
01:43<chealer>ablock: I'd expect my laptop to halt if I leave it unplugged and unattended for a "long time". I'd prefer the OS to shut it down before the battery dies. and I'd prefer a suspend if resuming is possible. I may also prefer that suspend to be early, in some cases.
01:44<chealer>ablock: that said, if you want to file a bug and you don't know which package, you can use the general pseudo-package
01:44-!-kneet_ [] has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
01:45<ablock>chealer, yeah that's also what i suspect. but the laptop is plugged und suspends immediatly after unplugging
01:45<ablock>i would suspect it to suspend after some time, but not immediatly
01:47<chealer>ablock: OOOH
01:47<ablock>imagine you have the laptop lying around somewhere, plugged in. the display and everything stays on due to the performance profile. then you want to move the laptop and just unplug it for 10 will already suspend after 1 second, that's not expected behaviour
01:48<chealer>ablock: now that sounds like a bug I may have witnessed myself
01:49<ablock>do you know which package handles the power profiles?
01:49<chealer>ablock: I failed to report it, didn't check whether it was reported neither. the problem is I never understood in which conditions it happened. what you're saying makes sense. I'll test it.
01:49<ablock>maybe that's the package where it belongs to

DO NOT INSTALL PACKAGES FROM EXPERIMENTAL WITHOUT KNOWING EXACTLY WHY AND WHAT YOU ARE DOING. #debian does _not_ support experimental. Situation would be that I have one public IP address and use a mix of virtualbox virtual machines and fysical machines to host multiple services to the outside world. But since I only have one public IP... I am wondering wat service Debian has that could do this for
