The number is about 15 million, they are around 2kb or 3kb of size each and they are stored under some subdir in /home with a hashed subdirectory tree which is 2 leves deep. the images are copied with nfs from some other machine time to time. We get high load when this copying is running. Currently

14:08<bremner>sb: try your current sponsors, and then #debian-mentors.
14:08<karme>cesurasean: did you run netstat -tpnl as root?
14:08<cesurasean>karme, it is configured, and i was connecting successfully before.
14:08<cesurasean>let me overwrite the conf and see what happens
14:09<karme>cesurasean: nah
14:09<karme>cesurasean: first inspect whats going on
14:09<themill>sb: if you don't set your real name in your irc client that makes it a bit harder to know who you are (btw it's expected that you would do so before entering Debian development channels)
14:09<karme>cesurasean: then try to fix it

23:03<sdk>Nope, just trying to get a screensaver to work (It's the only one that'll calm down my infant.. she's extremely active and inquisitive, so we need something to distract her for 5 mintuues so we can get things done.)
23:03<sdk>Euphoria, to be precise.
23:04<sdk>The error on is the error I get when I try and run it from CLI.
23:04<kurumin>yep, ill search aroundit
23:05<kevix1>sdk: get an ubuntu cd/usb key and run from that in the meanwhile :)
23:05<sdk>kevix1: LOL, that's exactly what I"m downloading right now..
23:06<kevix1>sdk: I'd be curious what version of xorg and glx was running on the two systems. or if any patches ubuntu added
23:07<sdk>I hate to use a screensaver to distract her, but she's so mobile now, we don't want to pen her up and let her cry, so we allow ourselves to give her 15-20 minutes a day of this thing (other than nap time) if we have to make important calls, etc. anyway, enough parental guilt tripping.. :)
23:08<sdk>kevix1: I was running 9.10 before I hosed it for Deb Unstable. I'm pretty sure it was runnign the most current non-free version of the driver from ATI.
23:08<kevix1>sdk: have you consisdered some Lego's or Lincoln logs :)
23:09<kurumin>The simple way to have kids sleeping is doing a run everyday
23:09<sdk>kevix1: we have both, but she's only 8 months old.. walking, opening drawers, the works, any anything small enough to fit inher mouth is obviously food..

23:11<sdk>so we have to watch her constantly, but euphoria for some reason just paralyzes her for about fifteen minutes, 20 maybe. Almost as good as a nap.
