00:40<GhostlyDeath>I have a disk /dev/hdg which is attached to an Ultra66 via 40 conductor cable, The disk works but DMA always times out
00:41<GhostlyDeath>I've ran out of 80 conductor cables, so is there any way to temporarily disable DMA for this disk?
00:41<GhostlyDeath>and yes, I do know how slow non-DMA mode is
00:42<sney>bios usually has a PIO setting
00:43<sney>though having DMA time out is still gonna be faster than PIO. your call.
00:48<GhostlyDeath>heh, well Linux disables DMA, but once it disables it, the disk is no longer readable

Derived from merging two penetration-testing distributions: WHAX (formerly WHOPPIX) and Auditor Security Linux. It is not supported in #debian. #backtrack-linux on See also <based on debian>.
01:24<jm_>try asking in that channel instead
01:25<zhengyi>kamran: you really should be asking the backtrack ppl, but any .deb should be installable on Debian derived distros using `dpkg -i`

14:42<amphi>Apollon: it might be kget; ISTR having a 2GB problem with wget a while back; curl behaved well
14:42<hahnp>im very happy with "roxterm"
14:42<Apollon>padski; destination filesystem: ext3. Filesize should be 4,4GB, it's number one out of the 7 DVDs of the squeeze build. Is it enough if I have DVD1. Is it correct that I don't need the other DVDs? This would make sense because there are few seeders for DVD1 but nearly none for 2 or 3 and really no seeder for 4-7.

22:31<kaziem>supported as in jailbreak?
22:31<kaziem>iphone needs itunes
22:31<Lanz>I just wanna be able to sync with it (music, contacts, message history, email) without messing with the iPhone OS
22:32<kaziem>and so far there's no real replacement
22:32<kaziem>it can be done with rythmbox and some other programs

22:34<kaziem>that's all my experience with a similar bberry model
22:34<Lanz>Very nice
