01:02<doobian>ALLurGroceries, i dunno, but you might have to add it into your fstab to automount - i have never had a usb drive to speak of.
01:02<satoru>There's no option to enable or disable usb in the bios.
01:03<satoru>LAN and WLAN were disabled - just enabled them to see if thats the issue.
01:03<ALLurGroceries>doobian: satoru cant get any devices but root hubs to show up in lsusb and usb modules are presumably loaded
01:04<doobian>yea, it should not be an issue at all, have you tried to boot off of your usb cddrive by hitting f10 at bootup?

01:06<satoru>When I connect it or disconnect it I get the Disabling IRQ23 message on the first time, and then nothing after that on other tries...
01:07<satoru>I get the bios if I hit f2 at boot
01:07<doobian>oh, ok... mm have you tried to manually mount it?
01:07<satoru>its not coming up in lsusb or dmesg as a device
01:08<ALLurGroceries>if it doesnt show up in lsusb it wont be in /dev so that wouldnt work

01:10<ab22e>hello, I was wondering if someone could help me, anyone here fimular with par2 files? I have a folder that has 25 par2 files that I need to check. Is there some way to check them all at one time as opposed to one-by-one? Right now I just been opening all 24 in pypar2 but it boggs my machine down something crazy.
01:10<satoru>not working in gnome either.
01:10<ALLurGroceries>oh maybe u have a conflict.. did u try booting with irqpoll
01:10<ab22e>*can someone help me
01:11<satoru>i'll look into it - is it a config setting or something?
01:11<doobian>ab22e, i use hellanzb to check - unrar directories
01:12<ALLurGroceries>no u specify it on the grub boot... edit it at the boot menu. just add a space after the last option and add irqpoll in there
01:12<ab22e>doobian, i been using something called NzbGet, it is supposed to par them and unrar them for me but it dosent seem to work. I tried hellanzb but it kept crashing on me
01:12<jm_>try using par2 command then
01:12<jm_>hellanzb checks them out of the box, no config needed
01:13<doobian>hellanzb -p ~/downloads/
01:13<ab22e>didn't they stop dev hellanzb?

22:09<sisk>I don't need a second keyboard. I don't look at the keyboard anyway. I just need an easy way to switch layouts in X that will work with Fluxbox.
22:10<dpkg>To change your console keymap, run "dpkg-reconfigure console-data". To change your X keymap, read "man xmodmap", or ask me about <drxx> or use kcontrol, gnome-control-center or similar. For setting up X keymaps, also check out xkeycaps and xev, or ask me about <multimedia keys>. In console you can also use "loadkeys" for once-only/temporary adjustments.
22:10<dr|z3d>when in doubt, install the gnome equivalent. it's in your repository. :)
22:10<abrotman>sisk: i don't htink fluxbox has an easy way
22:10<dkr>maybe make a menu entry that runs a simple shell script to run loadkeys
22:11<dr|z3d>"whatever suits" :)
22:11<dkr>or use a login manager like gdm to let her have her own session with her own keympa/wm
22:12<sisk>If I can find a command line that does it I can map a hotkey through Fluxbox. Guess I should have looked asked dpkg. I'll check out those programs.
22:12<dkr>or run two X servres and you can use ctl-alt-fx to bounce back and forth
22:12<sisk>Yeah, she has her own account, but she never uses it for some reason. I'm not sure she even knows the password anymore.

22:13<abrotman>you could fix that ?
22:13-!-finagle [] has joined #debian
22:16<sisk>I've tried. I don't see any real reason to force the issue. It's not worth starting a fight over for a computer that I don't really do anything important on.

22:17<sisk>Now if it were my laptop it'd be a different story, but she doesn't touch it.
