00:27<kop>twb: Did you try just the --include? (Just guessing.)
00:27<twb>Yes, lemme check its log
00:27<twb>kop: same issue; it borks trying to unpack apt
00:27<kop>twb: Maybe the full package name with version?
00:28<kop>twb: Ah, then that's not it then.
00:28<twb>Unfortunately I can't see how to stop debootstrap suppressing dpkg-deb's output
00:28<twb>At least, the manpage indicates --verbose only affects the download phase
00:30<kop>twb: The obvious grody answer is to let it install and then go back and replace it.... :-P
00:31<twb>That's plan B

00:33<jerryclunsford>could someone tell me how you use apt to install a a downloaded program or from a different repository?
00:33<heffay>I'm having a little trouble with my X server configuration. I'm running Lenny with nvidia-vdpau-driver installed from the repository. I have to monitors attached and configured as seperate x screens. Screen 0 works fine but when i try to open a program on sceen one with 'program -display :0.1' it still opens on screen 0
00:34<kop>jerryclunsford: gdebi
00:35<heffay>Could someone help me troubleshoot?
00:36<kop>twb: Could it be that sid is broken? Have you checked bts?
00:36<jerryclunsford>kop that is a program available from the synaptic package manager isn't it?
00:36<kop>twb: I'm just poking with a stick here. I don't know anything about debootstrap.
00:36<kop>jerryclunsford: Yes.
00:37<jerryclunsford>Someone told me not to that only use apt.
00:37<kop>heffay: It might be display 1. I forget what happens by default with 2 screens.
00:38<jerryclunsford>I thought it worked fine myself.
00:38<kop>jerryclunsford: ?
00:38<jerryclunsford>someone told me only to use apt to install software
00:38<kop>jerryclunsford: Unless you know what you're doing you don't want to install non-debian/not debian repo packages.
00:38<twb>kop: well, this issue has been around for a year or two
00:38<twb>kop: I haven't bothered to chase it down until now
00:39<jerryclunsford>I have enough of a problem with deb packages for now not about to try anything else.
