03:53<shaggy_>heyy im having an issue with cnetworkmanager it fails to import networkmanager.base is that because the API is updated and cnetworkmanger manager code hasn't been or do i need to install a package that would have that interface?
03:54<shaggy_>bugs.debian.org doesn't list failing to import networkmanager.base as a bug. purging and reinstall the package doesn't fix.

07:06<gsimmons>robin: You won't have any device support within the Lenny installer, as the b43 driver isn't part of nic-wireless-modules (Debian bug #547731). You would want to establish a base system first, then supply the required firmware post-installation.
07:07<robin>Ok, and as I dont have an Wired connection here. Ill be forced to abandon Debian?
07:08<robin>This was the entire reason I decided to run Debian XD as I thought/heard it had such exelent hardward support out-of-the-box... (I am an Arch Linux user normally)

15:39<hatta_>I meant it in a broad way: what is the popular method of suspending nowadays
15:41<lxsameer_>hatta_: most people use the tool that their desktop environment provided , but in text mode i think s2ram and s2disk
15:43<chealer>hatta_: I don't think anything is [officially] recommended. everything is in development, except for pm-utils which is in production but quite buggy. my personal recommendation would be not to spend much time on getting suspend to work unless you're interested in getting it to work yourself or really need it (assuming the default suspend doesn't work). in particular if you're not on testing.

23:03<DasUberJohan>Does anyone know why debian's not referncing the BIOS time and is continually changing the time to random times at every boot? I checked my BIOS and it was apparently 2hrs off, so i changed it back to the current time accoding to time.gov and now debian's saying it's 8hrs ahead of time once more even though when i just changed it right before booting and checking it.
23:03<abrotman>!set the time
23:03<dpkg>To set the time in debian, use date --set. The truly enlightened user, however, will install <ntp> or <openntpd> to have their clock set automatically on reboot and slewed to match time servers. You may also need to run dpkg-reconfigure tzdata (lenny and later) or tzconfig (etch and earlier) to set the time zone, and verify the UTC setting in /etc/default/rcS prior.
