00:34<pavi>while installing debian on hp pavillion my friend faced this issue "error: missing firmware files rt 18168d-2.fw" and is asking to load it via some media
00:34<pavi>I had no clue about rt 18168 ... why was it a dependency if its not included in the disk ?
00:35<pavi>my friend was installing debian testing from cd 1

00:38<pavi>gsimmons, in simple language what should my friend who is installing testing do ? ignore it ?
00:38<pavi>My friend called up and asked about it .. dunno details
00:40<gsimmons>pavi: The firmware files aren't packaged and not necessary for device use.
00:41<pavi>gsimmons, as far as my friend was telling on phone .. that it popped up like an interrupt asking for floppy/usb which has that firmware files
00:41<pavi>so I will tell him to ignore it

02:59<gamambel>The CPU mask is set on a per device and per queue basis in the sysfs variable /sys/class/net/=device>/queues/rx-<n>/rps_cpus. This is a set of canonical bit maps for receive queues in the device (numbered by <n>). If a device does not support multi-queue, a single variable is used for the device (rx-0).

03:41<doubledutch>In Iceweasel on Lenny, I cannot type anything into the Navigation Bar -- no reaction from URL Field or Search Field. This issue has been noticed three hours ago. A reboot did not remedy the issue. Last significant change to system was playing around with some GTK 2.x themes from xfce-look, but signs point to this not being the problem. Has anybody experienced something that could make the fields unusable in Iceweasel?

10:35<Ziggo>I was just wondering if Debian is still on that.

10:36<Ziggo>I will. Thank you.

12:42<Recku>the kernel always stop synchronization while come to this sectors
12:43<danlii>alephnull: dpkg -l|grep flashblock and apt-cache search flashblock gives no result at all.

23:54<KINgGh0sT>I recently did an apt-get upgrade and well it updated my kernel, and I suppose when grub-update ran now my grub is no longer working. I now get the error "Error: You need to load the kernel first" Any idea how to fix this? Right now I am on a live cd of ubuntu.
