01:47<twb>Ooh
01:47<cesurasean>what is fim?
01:47<cesurasean>heh
01:47<networkn>so I have loaded up webadmin and went into networking/firewall and it's listed all the port translations, but I can't see where the source it read the config from, I presume memory, how how did it get into memory? Is there a way to find the file it read to put those commands into memory?
01:47<twb>apt-get install fim fbi- ==> Need to get 1088kB of archives. After unpacking 23.5MB will be freed.
01:47<twb>A significant saving for th' old rescue image
01:49<cesurasean>fim is over my head! :P
01:50<twb>Unfortunately fim isn't working for me
01:50<twb>It seems to be getting the resolution from the LVDS-1 head or something

02:00<cesurasean>is there an offical kannel IRC channel?
02:01<cesurasean>ok, found 8 people over in freenode.
02:01<cesurasean>lol. this is all the help i will be receiving?
02:02<cesurasean>i can already tell that this is going to be interesting.
02:03<Ganneff>of what interest is this for this channel?
02:03<cesurasean>Ganneff, it's part of debian repo.
02:04<cesurasean>this is a debian channel, no?
02:04<Ganneff>and?
02:04<twb>gsimmons: fim seems to be making all images it shows wider than they should be. However it occurred to me I can probably use w3m-img for local image files, too, so I guess I'll try that.
02:04<Ganneff>come up with a specific problem on debian with it and its fine. we dont care how other channels look, if its interesting to do or whatever else.

02:06<gsimmons>twb: Ah, good idea. I haven't used fim extensively, but it WFM with uvesafb.
02:06<twb>I'm using i915fb with KMS
02:06<twb>mplayer also seems to have trouble with it, though w3m-img and fbi Just Work
02:07<twb>mplayer -ofbdev2, that is
02:07<twb>*-vo fbdev2
02:07<cesurasean>Does anyone have any experience setting up an sms gateway before? Or can suggest one on debian, besides kannel?
02:08<twb>gsimmons: I suspect it's something related to me using a widescreen

08:54<blowback>And if Visio doesn't run in Wine, it'll run in VirtualBox.
08:55<luser>jo - do you mean 'ls' rather than 'ln'?
08:55<luser>jo - I'd just run strace on the daemon, and see exactly what syscalls it's trying to call.

11:15<Zathraz>Hi. Is there somewhere still a link for apt to "etch"
11:15<koollman>(and that's a useful thing to have, on a remote server... flush by mistake, and at least, you can still join your server ;) )
11:15<paco>then set all 'accept' rules for trusted ip
11:15<Zathraz>I know it's ancient and an upgade is in order. But that is not an option atm
11:15<gsimmons>dpkg: tell Zathraz -about etch sources.list
11:15<koollman>paco: sure. but, if some day you type (or a script does) iptables -F INPUT, you're in trouble ;)

18:06<dserban>So... I have to move all files and services from one machine to another. As I move services, I'd like to disable them on the old server, and enable them on the new, but all of the clients are configured for the old servers' ip. So instead of changing everyone's config (as the new server's ip will then be the old ones) I was thinking of doing some port forwarding.
18:06<dserban>Though I'm not clear if this will work for such services like mysql, ldap, dns? Am I barking up the wrong tree?

21:55<jaimesilva>well it seems like the best thing to do is to move the file system to ext3, is there a way to convert a partition from ext4 to ext3? or should I create new partitions and move the data?
21:55<jaimesilva>fortunately I have spare space on the disks

22:02<blarson>jaimesilva: I know you can mount an ext3 partition as ext2, so it might be worth a try to mount an ext4 as ext3.
22:02<blarson>(Journals are disabled by mounting ext3 as ext2)
22:02<jaimesilva>blarson, I already tried that with no luck.
22:03<jaimesilva>I checked the docs and can't be done
22:03<blarson>ok, I havn't used ext4
