05:37<Arrowmaster>fl0w: last time i tried which was years ago i believe it did
05:38<fl0w>ok, because the only difference between NTP and SNTP is the lack of algorithms
05:39<koollman>fl0w: it works just fine. with windows as a client, for example...
05:39<fl0w>ok great, thx!

05:41<Arrowmaster>yeah SNTP just blindly believes what the server tells it while NTP querys multiple servers and tries to come up with what it thinks is a more accurate time

05:42<Arrowmaster>i remember it being a pita to get windows to use a custom time server
05:42<Arrowmaster>mostly because of bad documention on the net saying to use the 'net' command when really its 'w32time' or something
05:42<rpetre>it used to require the net.exe commands, now it uses ntp
05:43<Arrowmaster>last i looked even ntp.org said to use the net.exe command

19:09<sney>you'd have to delete /dev/sda1 and resize /dev/sda2 to fit, but you might lose data, best way would be to use partimage somehow, but I'm not even sure why you want to do it
19:09<cthuluh>the easiest and safest way would probably be to use a gparted livecd

19:14<sney>is there a problem with calling it /dev/sda2? why not just leave it
19:15<cthuluh>then, if you really want to rename it, note the exact size of the partition, then delete it, then create it again (preferably with fdisk)
19:16<tuxG>wow, this look dangerous, no ?
19:16<cthuluh>it just about rewriting a few bytes in the MBR, this is what gparted does. it's all up to you
19:17<cthuluh>of course you must not modify the FS, only the partition table
19:18<tuxG>but when i recreate it, the soft will format the partition
19:19<cthuluh>not with fdisk
19:19<cthuluh>other tools should provide the same capability

Do not use sid unless you have the skill to find your way out of the mess that broken packages may put you in; sid is not supported in #debian because sid users should be able to solve their own problems. Sid will never be released. See also <sid faq> <unstable>.
