00:10<nutterpc>how successful would DebianBSD be
00:11<sney>you mean Debian/kFreeBSD?
00:13<yukonho>I'm having an issue with the ttf-mscorefonts-installer. It seems to be constantly redirecting and failing on the sourceforge download links.
00:14<jester45>links might be broken...
00:14<yukonho>Is there a way to access the installer script and change the links?

00:15<yukonho>Although, typing in the address in a browser will do the redirect just fine. Maybe the timeout limit is set too short?

Even if the channel happens to be less helpful, support for distributions other than Debian is offtopic on #debian. See also <based on debian>.

05:24<devil>r0ger: lets not go there...
05:25<deriamis>r0ger: The person who wrote the postrm script has it unconditionally stopping the service.

14:51<dpkg>BackTrack is not Debian and is not supported in #debian (ask me about <based on debian>). Try or #backtrack-linux on instead. BackTrack is a Linux distribution based on <Ubuntu> Intrepid (as of BackTrack 4), previously <SLAX>. 18:21<monochrome>oh thats an ssh question
18:22<monochrome>where's the ssh channel, freenode?
18:22<helmut>no it isn't.
18:23<helmut>a tool for limiting a bidirectional pipe is sufficient (for ProxyCommand)
18:23<monochrome>why wouldnt ssh be able to do it itself
18:24<helmut>because it doesn't

19:55<monochrome>it died again, its the adobe 64bit plugin. killed iceweasel many times, audio broken, wiped .mozilla. happened again a few hours later, deleted plugin, installed flashplugin-nonfree, works again, no logout

23:45<dpkg>Squeeze is the codename for the next release, Debian GNU/Linux 6.0. It is the three-eyed space alien. Ask me about <wwsr> for recent updates and see also <testing> <squeeze udev> <squeeze kernel> <lenny->squeeze> . The Debian release is not to be confused with the <Xfce> archive manager.
23:45<dpkg>Squeeze is now frozen and will release <WIR>, <SIYH>, most likely in the first half of 2011. See and . See also <guess the release date>.
23:46<nutterpc>!squeeze udev
23:46<dpkg>As of <udev> version 150 (i.e. squeeze), Linux kernel 2.6.27 or later is required for correct operation. As of udev 163, you should be able to accept this warning message and complete the dist-upgrade to squeeze. Ensure that you have the current squeeze kernel installed (aptitude versions '~nlinux-image~i') prior to rebooting. See also <squeeze udev fix>, <squeeze kernel>, <kernel abi>,
