00:03<doubledutch>I heard there's an ongoing issue regarding: "vlc : Depends: vlc-nox (= 1.1.3-1squeeze2) but it is not going to be installed" ...and that it possibly has to do with Repositories, is this true or did I get bunk info?
00:04<brutus>Why am I getting the this error when I try to install Debian GNU/kFreeBSD? deboostrap error: failed to determine the codename for the release
00:04<doubledutch>To my knowledge, I hadn't uninstalled VLC and was shocked to find it missing - I then found the above dependency hell when I tried to reinstall it.
00:04<brutus>It happens after the partitioning part at once the installation of the base system begins.

13:28<rpetre>IratePirate: no, you need to do some extra step during installation
13:29<rpetre>at partitioning time
13:29<IratePirate>okay, well I didn't during the install, is there anyway to encrypt without reinstalling? If not I guess I will sue truecrypt how reliable is it? and whats the best algorith to use
13:29<IratePirate>use*
13:30<rpetre>as far as i know there is no simple way to convert a partition to encrypted storage without backup/restore
13:30<IratePirate>even the disk encryption in truecrypt?
13:30<rpetre>(there are some ways, but not for the faint of heart)
13:30<IratePirate>ah
13:30<rpetre>yes, even with truecrypt
13:30<bartm>IratePirate, maybe this helps ? http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/469
13:30<daemonkeeper>Not to forget, Truecrypt is evil(tm).

13:34<rpetre>luks uses aes
