08:47<ComradeHaz`>Hi all. I am struggling with nvidia-glx and nvidia-dkms doing expected things

08:55<Lantizia>I could use some advice... I've got a few web applications I'm manually installing on a debian box. They each also come with a directory full of scripts meant to be used at the shell and cronjobs. Now my first instinct is to avoid installing anything to /var/www... and put both the frontend dir and backend dir of each webapp under a new dir inside /opt. But then there is also /usr/local/share/name-of-web-app (as pe
08:55<Lantizia>r debian packaged webapps going in /usr/share/phpmyadmin for example)... but this dir could only be used for either the front or the back end dirs... any tips?
08:55<ompaul>there's a channel for that (almost as annoying a voice as there's an app for that)

08:55<ComradeHaz`>jm_: what I pasted above is dmesg and syslog output
08:55<devil>ComradeHaz`: i was away for a few days, last i know is, you needed nvidia stuff from experimental. you might also want to switch to #debian-next
08:56<jm_>ComradeHaz`: sure, my command will just confirm the loading line - anyway, try to rebuild the module and see what happens
08:56<Lantizia>For example... FreePBX has a few main commands for the shell, I put them in /usr/local/sbin... it has it's php web front end... maybe /usr/local/share/freepbx ?... and finally it has cronjobs and other bash scripts in a directory - should these be in another dir in /usr/local/share or in /opt/freepbx ?
08:57<jm_>but I have to run now, sorry

13:43<tyhc>I have a problem, and I can't seem to figure out exactly what is causing it. I have installed Apache2, PHP5, MySQL and downloaded WordPress.. When I got WordPress up and running, every normal page would take 5-10 sec to load and the admin pages would take approx. 30 sec to load. I figured it might be WordPress that sucked, so I downloaded MediaWiki (which could also be used for the website I'm making). Anyway - MediaWiki is also running very
13:43<tyhc>slowly. I tried deactivating (stopping) MySQL, and the page loaded almost instantly. Though - Whenever I load a page, and I look in HTOP, it says that it's using 100% of 1 of the CPU's (There's two).. I have never had problems before with slow loading of neither WordPress nor MediaWiki, but I did a fresh install of linux yesterday, and that was when the problems started. Is it Apache, MySQL or the CMS that's slowing everything down? I think it
13:43<tyhc>could be MySQL, hence the fast loading when disabling MySQL. Please help, dear Debian people :)
