10:49<petemc>edevin: you use apt-cdrom to add the cds to your sources.list, then you get prompted to insert whichever is needed
10:50<petemc>kinda painful, much nicer to grab from network
10:50<edevin>this is the problem. CD1 is not enough: problems with firmware (no ethernet nor wifi), no network manager, not apt-offline
10:50<babilen>edevin: Use apt-cdrom to add additional CDs, but that is only needed if you don't have a working network connection as you can download all packages from the online repositories.

So it's a matter of selecting the deb files for a given architecture and, on the other hand, selecting only the version that squeeze uses. What I don't know is how to put that into practice: i.e. how to use the packages.gz file in order to tell the ftp server to download ONLY the files in packages.gz

15:21<ansgar>ie. no setuid with gnutls around.
15:22<jthomas>hmmm that is pushing the boundries of my understanding
15:23<ansgar>Well, if you use any function that uses the LDAP-equivalent of /etc/group, /etc/passwd via libnss-ldap, and you have configured libnss-ldap to use TLS or SSL, then gnutls ends up being called.
15:23<jthomas>aah interresting
15:23<ansgar>gnutls will then drop the setuid privileges so you are back to being a normal user.
15:24<ansgar>If you use libnss-ldapd or nscd, gnutls will only be used in a different process (either the nscd daemon or the daemon from libnss-ldapd) and not affect your program.
15:25<ansgar>This also breaks sudo, at, and some other suid root programs.

16:59<Jewfro-Macabbi>sesshomaru, search google
16:59<Black_Prince>Google Chrome installs its desktop file via xdg-desktop-install or whatever ... So it is kept in /usr/share/applications untill some package triggers desktop-file-utils trigger. ln -s /opt/google/chrome/google-chrome.desktop /usr/share/applications && update-desktop-database should fix it.

23:11<serhyi>Hey guys. I created a mail server, and works fine now, but when I send mails from it say to gmail.com they go directly to spam folder. is there a way to change that, so that google trusts this mail server? (not only google, but all mail services, m.b. set up some certificate or smth?)

23:18<blarson>serhyi: depends on why the mail is considered spam. Check your IP address on the various blacklists.
23:19<serhyi>don't think that's a problem. I just started the service. it's residential IP - does it matter?

23:20<blarson>serhyi: most residential and dynamic addresses are blacklisted due to infected windows pcs using them to spam.
