09:07<themill>Wayny: you seem to have missed something important with apt-zip. The idea is that you run it on the disconnected client and it generates a wget list of things to download. You take that list to the connected machine and do all the downloads there, taking the .debs back to the disconnected machine and then apt-zip installs them there.

13:07<Bushmills>changing a config file is the most appropriate method to change the behaviour
13:07<golfgeo>Bushmills: like an optional line in /etc/network/interfaces?
13:08<Bushmills>well, if you want to turn off dhcp, and set interface to static, that would do too. don't forget to set gateway, default route, then
13:08<golfgeo>Bushmills, I know and thats why I love the Debian command line and config files... But to spread one nic's config over multiple files isn't handy at all
13:09<Bushmills>sometimes people not aware of the config set resolve.conf to immutable

13:10<Bushmills>no. you can set it in the config file of the dhcp client
13:11<golfgeo>k, I'll use the interface "name" { declarations ... } methode :-)

16:13<clock_>Hello in Firefox Manage Bookmarks I moved about 5 bookmark directories containing together approx. 5 bookmarks few lines higher and firefox-bin is eating 100% CPU for minutes, X are not reacting, cursor doesnt change depending upon where I go and I cannot switch the 4 desktops in X. Is this normal - I mean - is it so computationally expensive to move 4 bookmarks few lines up?
