11:00<babilen>chico_marx: I will help you in some minutes, but I am busy with something else right now. I am not entirely sure what causes your problem and what your setup is right now. You did, however, install fglrx (why?) and I would recommend to remove whatever /etc/X11/xorg.conf you might have.
11:00<babilen>chico_marx: You can then create one using: mkdir /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d ; echo -e 'Section "Device"\n\tIdentifier "My GPU"\n\tDriver "fglrx"\nEndSection' > /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-fglrx.conf
11:01<chico_marx>I dont have any xorg.conf, I tried creating one, but it failed
11:01<babilen>!empty xorg.conf
11:01<dpkg>Starting from Lenny, /etc/X11/xorg.conf is often basically empty or non-existent, as X auto-detects your hardware and starts the X server accordingly, nothing to worry about. Ask me about <xorg config> and <xrandr> for ways to configure Xorg. See also <xorg config squeeze>, <xorg.conf.d>, <xorg hal>.
11:01<babilen>!xorg.conf.d
11:01<dpkg>xorg can use files ending in the suffix .conf in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d for additional configuration. It is preferred to use an <empty xorg.conf> and create files (e.g. 20-nvidia.conf, 20-radeon.conf, 20-wacom.conf) there in order to configure a single device. You might have to create the directory yourself (mkdir /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d). See also "man 5 xorg.conf".

11:04<babilen>chico_marx: I should note that I am not at all convinced that installing fglrx (the proprietary ATI driver) was a good idea, but that gives us at least some data to work with. I will be back later and take a look. Excuse that and good luck!
