07:34<dpkg>i guess debtags is a way of categorising packages with tags (facets) that describe how a package can be used, what data it can read/write, what interfaces it has etc. This adds another dimension to package searching. Install the debtags package, then search either using "debtags" or "aptitude". Search (or add new tags) at . See also or ask me about <aptitude search>.

18:25<kevix>toad_: I think you might need: dpkg --add-architecture i386
18:25<kevix>but ask other folks, first.
18:26<kevix>if you have an amd64 system, it will install amd64 stuff unless you tell it that you can also istall i386 stuff.
18:26<kevix>its not automatic
18:26<toad_>yes but i already did that
18:26*toad_ did it again though
18:27<kevix>when you add a foreign arch, it allows you to install a different but compatible arch pkg
18:27<toad_>it still says it needs to remove build-essential gcc etc etc
