03:21<Poenikatu>I have a HP LaserJet 1020 which has been working for some months. Now, it's stopped working and I simply don't understand why. It's connected by USB and is recognised by the kernel.

03:49<Poenikatu>txt-file, There's a computer consultancy downstairs and I'm going to take it down later this morning and ask them to test it. They're both Windoze types
03:51<Poenikatu>txt-file, I've had absolutely no hints that it is running out of toner.

03:52<Poenikatu>txt-file, 3 years ago, I had exactly the same problem. No joy. In desperation, I bought a copy of Windoze 7 which *did* drive the printer. Fortunately, I'm back to Linux.

17:20<babilen>Skin: That's okay. In that case you might want to download CD1 from http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/release/current/amd64/iso-cd/ and the firmware.tar.gz from http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/firmware/wheezy/current/ -- Are you installing from USB or CD?

17:26<EmleyMoor>The fact is, it's perfectly possible for the VM to start with the filesystems mounted, but I am led to believe it's bad news.
17:27<EmleyMoor>I'll keep the split script (and at that one that denies the VM to run if the filesystems are mounted) until I prove what it is that's breaking it - if, as I believe, it still remains the umount and doesn't spread to any of my other VMs, I won't be any further on... but otherwise, I'll see what conclusions I can draw
17:28<valdyn>EmleyMoor: why is there a need to mount those filesystems at all ever?
17:28<EmleyMoor>valdyn: So that they can be backed up.,
17:29<valdyn>EmleyMoor: so you have to shut the vm down to do a backup, makes no sense to me
17:29<retrospectacus>try a long sleep between umount and vmstart
17:29<EmleyMoor>valdyn: It is normally down. If it was normally up, I'd get the VM to do the backup.
17:30<valdyn>EmleyMoor: what filesystem type is it btw?
17:31<EmleyMoor>The method I've been using with this VM is identical to my five others - only this one plays up... the only difference could be the filesystem type, which is ext4
17:31<EmleyMoor>(not ext4 on any of the others)
17:31<valdyn>the others are what?
