01:16<shIfU>Hi! I'm using Gnu/Linux Debian Sid and with the current version of hal (same version in wheezy) isn't working with the load button of aptoncd
01:16<themill>shIfU: hal has different versions in wheezy and sid; aptoncd declares no relationships with hal -- are you sure it uses hal at all?

01:19<shIfU>themill: although hal isnt a dependency, it's required to bring out the file browser dialogue when the load button is clicked; besides, hal is the same version in both wheezy and sid, i checked it myself because i wanted to install a stable version opf hal, but found it's the same version

01:27<shIfU>themill: hal should be a dependency of aptoncd; it's a bug that has been already reported
01:27<shIfU>themill: but still not dealt with
01:27*themill doesn't see that bug reported anywhere
01:28<themill>also, since hal is going away, it won't be growing a dependency on hal... the code needs changing to use udisks or similar instead

06:14<babilen>stevenm_: Not, sure but http://live.debian.net/manual/current/html/live-manual/the-basics.en.html has more information. And an MTA is anything but "crap". (cf. <why an mta>)

06:15<stevenm_>thankfully a debian install that excludes standard utilities doesn't come with one

06:19<babilen>dpkg: why an mta
06:19<dpkg>An MTA should be on most Unix(ish) systems to provide a way for various services to deliver asynchronous system or error messages. This includes things like cron and at (to give you the output of jobs) and various daemons (e.g. the init script of MySQL). The MTA does not have to listen to network ports so spam and security issues are largely irrelevant. See also <nullmailer>.

You might be able to pull it from experimental, but we had a user who this didn't work out for very well in #d-next the other day. I would recomend that open radeon driver (/msg dpkg radeon) for the time being. Might want to try 3.11 + fglrx from exp if you are desperate/adventurous.

07:22<[UP]Crystal>When I'm watching video on youtube I can do this for a 10 minutes only. Then my screen goes to sleep mode. It's ok for me cause I use notebook and I need a powersave mode in general. But is there are any way to disable this policy when I'm watching video on youtube and similar services based on flash player?

22:12<ferryman>hi all, trying to install wheezy on eeepc 4G 701 with gnome. My problem is my install always
22:12<ferryman>s results in having no GUI.I can login at completion of install and everything else seems ok.
22:12<ferryman> I was hoping to have gnome included. The main issues of my installation so far was hanging at
22:12<ferryman>start but overcame that by using expert install. Also there is no video mode 800 X 480 so used mode 311
22:12<ferryman>Any suggestions please.

22:28<flypiper>ferryman, I have installed Gnome on eeepc, most important thing is the bios update in windows before Debian. Everything worked perfectly
