06:21<SynrG>if so, please explain
06:21<SynrG>otherwise:
06:21<SynrG>!blender
06:21<dpkg>Blender is a free software, cross platform 3D creation suite, allowing fully integrated modeling, animation, rendering, post production and interactive 3D creation and playback. Its internal render engine supports ray tracing. http://www.blender.org/ #blenderchat and #blenderqa on irc.freenode.net.
06:22<shams>i am sure its not blender issue, its ubuntu, the installation of CUDA on ubuntu is a bit complicated for new linux user like us.
06:22<shams>Blender works fine, I can see the CUDA option but when I try to render using Cycles GPU render it does not work, no rendered image is produced.

11:47<Kyler>I'm running Wheezy, but I find it hard to believe it is a Video card issue seeing as the GRUB boot loader shows just fine. After I press enter to go in to Debian, it goes through the normally quick command line interface when it checks for errors (When you first boot how it says [OK] then what it was looking at), then it's solely a black screen, nothing else. There weren't any upgrades on the system.
11:47<SynrG>flips^: rumours have circulated ever since news sources tracking debian went bananas on a commit that was later reverted. that had to do with dealing with CD1 size ... but that's long over with.

15:20<tgies>what's the cleverest way to ensure that a program will always be invoked with certain command line arguments, regardless of who invokes it or from what context? I have a feeling that there might be a way to accomplish that with update-alternatives, but I'm not sure that's the best way. Basically I'm trying to get certain SSL ciphersuites blacklisted from Chromium for all users
15:21<ixi>make a shell script named chromium
15:21<tgies>Obviously I could drop a shell script stub in place of the binary but that would get clobbered by updates unless dpkg was aware of it
15:21<styx-tdo>tgies: move the program out of path, create a bash script that starts it with the real parameters, i.e. bla -> bla.real, bla calls bla.real with parameters
15:21<ixi>^
15:21<styx-tdo>tgies: ;) put the shell script in a folder that precedes the original program in $PATH?
15:22<styx-tdo>tgies: /usr/local/bin seems like a perfect place ;)
