00:44<somiaj>Yin: what is it you are trying to install? Have oyou checked the debian repos first?
00:45<somiaj>Yin: .py sounds like a python script and if it just python code you don't really need to compile anything and can just run the code with python. In that case you just need copy the code somewhere in $PATH if you don't want to run it form its currnt dir
00:45<Yin>I looked in the debian repo and didn't see it as for what it is not really sure . Just trying to help him out.

15:49<somiaj>phil5354: if you want to have fun and run testing or sid, I wouldn't say one is more stable than the other. Each has its own issues. sid's major issue is it gets new packages a lot of the time and higher chance of bugs (though the bugs are usually fixed fairly quickly)
15:49<phil5354>then I guess I will stay safe with stable, until I need something
15:49-!-pwr [~pwr@5-12-195-235.residential.rdsnet.ro] has joined #debian
15:49<somiaj>phil5354: testing has it's own issues. Mostly due to the fact that during large package migrations (gnome, kde, etc) there are sometimes lots of unexpected results that didn't get found in sid (so it can get it's own new and unique bugs). That on top with fixes have to filter in though sid (similar with secuirty) is it takes longer for things to get fixed in testing.

19:08<somiaj>sysvalve: the netinstall is kinda missnamed. The installer itself contains enough stuff on the disk (400megs or so) to install a fully functional minimial base system with out the use of the network
19:08<NOICEMAN>i try that install also figure it have more firmware same thing
19:08<somiaj>sysvalve: note this is a very minimial system (is even missing some standard packages) but it works. You need the network to install anything beyond the minimial base system that comes on the netinstall.
19:09<NOICEMAN>let me attempt to find network on bios
19:09<NOICEMAN>not indea honestlty where it would be located
19:09<somiaj>sysvalve: so in many cases my suggestoin to people with firmware issues is finish the base install, get the system installed. Then copy over the firmware, bring the network up and finish
19:09<somiaj>NOICEMAN: it is usually attached to one of the bridges, and there is usually an option to disable it. Again this depends on the bios
19:10<somiaj>most only have a few screens of menus/options so I usually end up looking through them all
