03:32<lev_>Hi! I have installed Apache and PHP, downloaded php-script with mail form and put it into local host. it writes that mail is sended (to my gmail), but it doesnt arrive. do I need to install mail server, so mail form can work?
03:34<lev_>or mail can be sent just through php?
03:35-!-Gromit [~jpalic@62.109.86.72] has joined #debian
03:35<themill>php normally uses your local mail server -- you need to configure it to send mail either to a network smart-host or directly to gmail with your credentials
03:36<lev_>themill: do i need to install it?
03:36<themill>you probably have exim4 already installed and that will do the job. You could use any other mail transport agent too
03:37<lev_>themill: exim4 is installed yep

10:13<oigres>I'm quite expert on debian and running sid. Last upgrade however messed things quite a lot. Started with a wpa_supplicant: /sbin/wpa_supplicant daemon failed to start and also infinite loops on configuring dbus which managed to stop after moving out /etc/init.d/dbus, installing and putting back the dbus file on init.d
10:13<oigres>Problem is that wpa_supplicant fails to load. Any ideas?

22:37<RainbowW>somiaj, i am trying to avoid even downloading the indexes because my pipe is so slow. even starting tasksel on the jessie installer is taking 20 minutes.
22:38<RainbowW>i have a mirror right here on the same subnet and i'd prefer to use it.
22:38<somiaj>RainbowW: then just skip the network configuration part
22:39<somiaj>RainbowW: again you do not need the network to install with the networkinstaller

22:45<Gerowin>Anybody know where Evolution stores address books? I've restored a backup of my home folder prior to installing Debian 7, and I've set up Evolution but want to restore my address book but I'm not sure where it keeps them.
22:46<somiaj>Gerowin: not exactly, but start poking around the hidden files, 'ls -a old_home', might be in .evolution or some nicely named dir, might be ni like .local or something more generic
22:46<RainbowW>so once the base is installed, how do i do the network config? manually via /etc/network/interfaces? or can i restart the installer after the initial reboot?
22:46<somiaj>RainbowW: manually using the interfaces file
22:47<somiaj>RainbowW: or just the core ip tools
22:47<somiaj>I don't think the installer actually installs a network config tool that asks questions and sets up teh network
22:48<Gerowin>somiaj: K, I'll keep digging around. I've found a few different "evolution" folders with similar looking items in there, I'll track it down.

23:53<dodo_>or how to achieve that?
