00:07<caravel>Zeus_: just one bit: you can't mutualize *everything* under /home across distros, "dot files and folders" will just blow cf. concurrent versions of the same apps
00:07<caravel>hence why I recommend the above (/home/wheezy/userA etc.)
00:08<caravel>then you can have some /home/share/something and link stuff from the /home/distro folders, but you really need to pinpoint what you link
00:09-!-hashem [~hashem@c-174-63-124-43.hsd1.vt.comcast.net] has joined #debian

19:22<Ryccardo>do they show up in alsamixer? (press S)
19:24<Ryccardo>hyaenodon: (assuming an MBR disk) resize the windows partition (beforehand or in installer), create Debian partition, everything should work out fine at the GRUB install step
19:24<awal>lsusb list the headphones with microphone but no sound. sound still displayed via speakers

19:28<Ryccardo>awal: possibly, but you'd have to figure out the module first
19:28<Ryccardo>since that sound card doesn't show up, you can't even be sure it's loaded

23:56<random>check it's installed with dpkg -l | grep nouveau .. should be xserver-xorg-video-nouveau .. if so, you could remove nvidia-kernel-dkms for now with apt-get remove nvidia-kernel-dkms --purge
23:57<random>or configure X to use nouveau
23:58<Marillion>apt-get *purge* exist now :)
23:58<sleser>lol
23:58<sleser>what am i purging
23:58<Marillion>nvidia-kernel-dkms
23:58<random>oh.. I can just do apt-get purge packagename?
23:59<Marillion>random: yes
23:59<random>--purge tells apt-get to remove related configuration files
23:59<Marillion>that too
23:59<random>oh, nice.. well then in that case, apt-get purge nvidia-kernel-dkms :)
