00:03<twb>In case anyone actually cares about my watchdog questions: I executively decided to blacklist all but softdog, because my use case mostly expects failures in userland, not kernel, and sticking to only softdog is simpler to code.

00:22<mkol_ssn>how does one switch between languages in debian?
00:22<santexnik>i used another command a command whitch lemy copy from it
00:22<twb>mkol_ssn: the system-wide default language, or the per-user language?
00:23<twb>santexnik: I see no mention of firmware there
00:23<santexnik>it isnt loging that part
00:24<mkol_ssn>twb : per user
00:24<twb>mkol_ssn: are you in a GUI?
00:24<mkol_ssn>mkol_ssn : yes, i'm using xfce
00:25<santexnik>is there a way to pause the screen that boots ?
00:25<twb>mkol_ssn: I'm not sure about GUI but I think you can do it at the GUI login screen
00:25<twb>santexnik: I don't know a way

00:25<santexnik>ok
00:25<twb>santexnik: you could try turning off the getty on /dev/tty0

00:26<twb>Aaand he's gone :-)
00:26<mkol_ssn>twb : in windows i just hit ctrl+shift to type between languages, i don't know how to set it up here.
00:26<twb>mkol_ssn: oh you just mean for typing?
00:26<twb>those are called "input methods".
00:26<twb>I thought you wanted error messages and menus to be in e.g. Spanish
00:27<mkol_ssn>oh no

00:27-!-SynrG [~synrg@0000faa3.user.oftc.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
00:27<twb>OK I think in XFCE you can do that from Applications > Settings > Keyboard
00:27<twb>If you can't do it from GUI the low-level tool is setxkbmap

00:30<twb>mkol_ssn: ctrl+shift toggle appears to be -option grp:ctrl_shift_toggle
00:30<santexnik>how
00:30<twb>santexnik: if you're using sysvinit it should be /etc/inittab 1:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty1
00:30<twb>santexnik: but have a live CD handy to undo it
00:31<twb>santexnik: you SHOULD be able to undo it with Ctrl+Alt+F2 to get to a login prompt
00:31<twb>santexnik: but live CD just in case :-)
00:31<mkol_ssn>twb : can't do it in the gui, least it looks like you shold be able to...
00:31<twb>mkol_ssn: righto

00:32<twb>santexnik: and it probably works just fine without the extra firmware
00:33<santexnik>so leave it alone ?
00:33<santexnik>id like to paste bin the dmesg if you arent lazy to take a look at
00:33<mkol_ssn>twb : so if i wanted to use ctrl+shift to switch between english and korean i would do setxkbmap -layout us, de -option switch...
00:34<twb>no space after comma
00:34<twb>and de is german (deutsch); korean will be ko or maybe hangul
00:34<santexnik>http://paste.debian.net/136612/
00:34<twb>Reading the XML is the least painful way to tell what you need to enter
00:35<twb>mkol_ssn: ah sorry korean appears to be kr or kr104
00:36<twb>mkol_ssn: I don't know how to type hanja, tho
00:36<twb>For that you probably need the korean equivalent of anthy

08:46<stemid>ugh I solved it. the manpage was just unclear to me but apparently failover peer does mean one peer declaration per server. it means a virtual peer name that represents the cluster.
08:47<stemid>so I just changed it to one peer declaration, and changed the failover peer declaration in each pool to reference that virtual name.

17:58<viccuad>hey guys. Why debian's wiki pages aren't separated by releases? each time a release is done, the page gets copy-pasted to the next release. and then you edit the page for that release
17:58<santexnik>http://paste.debian.net/136757/
17:59<viccuad>that way it's obvious and easy to keep the wiki up to date (look at the wiki pages of the new release that haven't been 'touched' yet, improve them or aprove them as they are)
18:01<viccuad>and you can have the wiki done for wheezy for example, and start working on jessie without making a mess on things about wheezy
