06:28<tweek>so. i'm trying to create an ad-hoc wifi bridge between two debian machines, without much success. on machine 1 (stable, headless), i can create a WEP but can't create a WPA-PSK encrypted network (getting 'ioctl[SIOCSIWENCODEEXT]: Invalid argument'), while on machine 2 (testing, gui), i can create a WPA-PSK but can't create a WEP-encrypted network ("authorization supplicant timed out").
06:29<tweek>i don't understand either error, and neither seems anyone else after some googling.

06:31<tweek>of course i'd prefer to use WPA and fix error #1, but i suspect that nobody has ever successfully created an ad-hoc network with WPA-PSK on a headless debian machine

20:36<lastplac3>VPSes to be exact
20:36<gfedel>lastplac3, you can use scp (install openssh-server in one and use scp to transfer files)
20:37<gfedel>if they are on the same network

20:38<y>direct client to client
20:39<y>if you have and irc cient on both of them you can send files through dcc...
20:40<lastplac3>Ill check that out
20:40<y>well it'd be easier to use something like sftp
20:40<gfedel>lastplac3, they could be connected both on internet, it works to
20:41<lastplac3>yeah I was thinking sftp
20:41<lastplac3>thanks guys
