05:04<autochthon>Jessie user here. I am trying to make my keyboard work as it should, but I am bit overwhelmed by the bug reporting process. It seems that I suffer from this issue: http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/systemd-devel/2013-December/015335.html where people agree, that it should fixed in the driver and not in systemd. I've been trying to search bugzilla and looking under drivers/usb, but I can't find any references to the lenovo
05:05<autochthon>lenovo_tpkbd driver there.

12:52<JK1>I tried to install Debian into a brand new laptop that has Microsoft Windows 8 pre-installed. The installer failed in automatic partitioning. All of the hard disk was indeed occupied by seven different partitions (system EFI partition, Microsoft system partition and five "basic data partitions"). I assigned one of the basic ones for Debian / root and continued. Then it warned me that there was no swap. So I assigned one more for swap. Then i

13:03<retrospectacus>There is the "fixmbr" procedure. I think you need to disable "secure boot" (in your bios) too.
13:03<retrospectacus>!fixmbr
13:03<dpkg>To reinstall <GRUB> boot to your Debian install disk/live CD, switch to the other console (Alt-F2), then mount your root filesystem (mount -t ext2 /dev/whatever /target ; mount --bind /dev /target/dev ; mount -t proc none /target/proc ; mount -t sysfs none /target/sys), then chroot into it (chroot /target) and run "update-grub && grub-install /dev/whatever". See also <rescue mode>, <dual boot guide>, <supergrub>. Also works for EFI!

16:16<blast007>bybb: basically, you need to set to bind_ip (or bindIp, whatever they call it) in the mongo server configuration to 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1
16:17<bybb>I was thinking to define the ip address as the source of the rule

21:50<alvin>jpleau: I was a reluctant to include that config (suggested in forum post I linked). The post is a few years old and there hasn't been any recent posts from the author or anyone else. In addtion I imagaine Ubunut has made quite a few changes since the initial post date. But I could be wrong.
21:52<alvin>jpleau: It would be nice to know which files/packages ubuntu use to configure fonts. I tried researching it but I couldn't find much. My googlefu isn't up to scratch apparently.
21:53<jpleau>alvin: To be honest, with just the ubuntu fonts, and the link I gave you, I pretty much have identical font rendering. But I don't use a lot of gtk apps I'm mainly in the term with a bitmap font, so maybe I don'T notice it the difference (if any) enough
21:56<awal>Is it possible to have 2 standard users using different sessions in same machine at same time?
21:56<alvin>jpleau: I think your right. I prefer terminal application these days so the difference is only slight. I mainly use the gnome-terminal, weechat, htop, and nano. I'm trying to learn how to use midnight commander but I'm not sure if its worth my time. I use the terminal to go to directories anyway so there may not be much point.
21:57<alvin>jpleau: But I enjoy seeing the expression on my friends face when they see all 4 virtual screens packed with terminals. It makes me feel smart (which I'm not)/
