04:30<_nim>Hi. How do I enable auto login to tty1 for a user in Debian Jessie with systemd? In wheezy I would've used /etc/inittab, but that file doesn't exist in Jessie
04:31<jm_>try systemctl show getty@tty1.service
04:33<_nim>jm_ that outputs quite a lot of lines. I'm quite new to systemd and dont know what to be looking for
04:34<jm_>_nim: you'll probably want to change the way agetty is started - is that not how you have changed it in wheezy?

06:43<Louie>another idea ?
06:43<jm_>.a is used when linking with -static, you probably want .so linked if you are going that route
06:43<SynrGy>and in any case, the output is useless to us. we don't know *where* you made the symlink

06:46<SynrGy>Louie: when asking for help here, you need to always tell us the exact command you used and complete output. use paste.debian.net for this purpose. do *not* keep pasting lines here without sufficient context for us to understand your problem.

09:51<Brigo>sander, find their package name and delete them with apt-get remove as peter1138 said.

17:48<marioxcc_>positi: “need to” is relative <http://ebb.org/bkuhn/blog/2010/08/09/have-to-use.html>. Debian is built so that you can use it with only free software. If you install a proprietary driver, you are surrending your freedom to the manufacturer and perpetuating that abuse to other users as well. I strongly recommend purchasing a wireless card that doesn't requires software that you can't even modify (and usually not even distribute).
17:48<marioxcc_>positi: If you want to see more support for GNU/Linux, you should do something about it, not just surrender at the slightest inconvenience.
