00:15<nevyn>twb: is the second mount call a problem?
00:15<nevyn>like it's crap but it just fails with already mounted right?
00:17<twb>currently no because pam doesn't care if the mount fails
00:17<twb>But I have a separate bug that users shouldn't be able to log in when $HOME fails to mount
00:17<twb>(Which, currently, they can --- with a $HOME that's just sitting on the debina-live tmpfs)
00:18<nevyn>oh right. that makes sense

01:26<cae>ok, my iSCSI issue is resolved, though I'm not sure what the root cause was. In fact, the iet/volume entry was missing a LUN, so the initiator didn't see what wasn't there
01:27<cae>the "solution" was adding a new dummy entry to ietd.conf, restarting the target, restarting the initiator, and both the old and the new dummy device appeared
01:28<cae>it seems like the target had cached the config somewhere and/or failed to load the device while booting

05:37<krymzon>it's a Huawei E303, which works very reliably with Wheezy: https://paste.debian.net/312822/
05:38<krymzon>it's possible the udev rule actually triggers and something else is missing... but the modeswitch config file is good as far as I can tell
05:40<krymzon>I'm not quite sure what I should be looking at in udevadm monitor to see if the rule actually triggered
05:43<krymzon>also, manually invoking usb_modeswitch works, so I think the issue is at udev rules level

05:44<twb>Althoug... even with either of those, "udevadm monitor" should still see the insertion event...
05:45<krymzon>yes, udevadm sees some stuff, it just does not look like calling usb_modeswitch.. I may be wrong, I'll pastebin it

07:11<jm_>you could strace it to see how it actually runs it
07:11<krymzon>the thing is, if I invoke usb_modeswitch fully manually, without any config files, it works. If I try to rely on config or udev, it works in Wheezy, but not Jessie

19:46<ArthropodOfDoom>Pretty good, I just need to figure out why Polari isn't working. Using GNOME on a Lenovo laptop I recently configured to dual boot with Win7
19:47<Gerowen>I've never used it, had never even heard of it until I installed Debian 8 yesterday, I've always just used XChat.
19:47<Gerowen>Gave it a whirl and noticed it didn't have things like Freenode pre-loaded, so I just never fooled with it.

21:59<Gerowen>Anybody know what's different about python-tk in Debian 8 relative to other distributions that causes file selection dialogs to generate alloc: invalid block when you select a file or folder?
22:00<Gerowen>Just installed Debian 8 last night and trying to run a few of my scripts that use easygui (a python-tk front end basically) and any time one of them generates a file or folder selection dialog, I am able to choose files just fine, but when the dialog closes I get alloc: invalid block and the program exits.
22:01<somiaj>Gerowen: I'd check versions, maybe the version in debian is just a bit older before this feature was added. You can also check the change log and debian specific patches.
22:02<Gerowen>somiaj: The last time I edited the script was in 2013, but I'm not sure when python-tk was frozen for Jessie. I'll poke around and see what I can find, just wasn't sure if other people had run into it or not. :-)
22:04<Gerowen>If I sent you the source code could you see if you can get past the file selection dialog? That would tell me if it's something specific to my installation at least.
22:04<somiaj>not really, dno't know that much. Just general advise of how to track it down
