00:35<twb>Someone help me understand blkid!
00:35<twb>On wheezy, blkid (util-linux) says LABEL=MadMax
00:35<twb>On jessie, blkid (util-linux) says LABEL=MADMAX
00:36<twb>But on jessie, a hand-compiled busybox blkid (from upstream git) says LABEL=MadMax still!

02:39<twb>Which was done to fix Windows install media, which have meaningful ISO9660 labels but useless UDF labels.
02:40<twb>Whereas this DVD, at least, has less meaningful ISO9660 labels. Joy.
02:41<twb>Not that it matters, tho, because isoinfo/wheezy and isoinfo/jessie return different *track lengths* (by a couple hundredths of a second), so all my hashes are invalid even if I fix the UDF vs. ISO9660 volume labels
02:41<jm_>ahh so it is hybrid image with both iso9660 and udf then?
02:42<twb>NFI, but I have the impression that there's a hefty overlap between UDF and ISO9660

02:59<twb>And yeah, mtd is direct access to flash (without a hardware flash translation layer (FTL), like sandforce). mtdblock implements an FTL in kernel. If you buy an M.2 or SATA SSD, it has a hardware FTL you can't turn off --- except for the hobbyist segment. In the SD/SDHC segment, I think the FTL is implemented in hardware in the card reader.

09:14<dpkg>libc6 is the GNU C library version 2, which Debian GNU/Linux uses since version 2.0. Do not try to downgrade it. It is a essential component of your Debian system, and we are not responsible if it breaks.
09:15<themill>ag_melbourne: you can get it via packages.debian.org

16:17<pollux_>hi
16:17<pollux_>is there a KVM channel for debian by any chance?
16:17<pollux_>I'm having VGA passthrough woes
16:17<hicks>Is there a way to start up a kde service on login to xfce? Weird question I guess, but kde has a nice config gui for the wacom intuos and I can get it to load using kcmshell4 kcm_wacomtablet, but only if I previously do kcmshell4 kcmkded and the scroll down to the "wacom tablet" service and hit start.

16:19<pollux_>hicks: I'm sure xfce has a method of starting apps at startup like LXDE
