02:08<twb>So I'm hearing about vmdeboostrap because of the fallout between dba and the debian-cd team.
02:08<twb>I'm rolling my own live kiosk SOEs using debootstrap from an in-house script. Is vmdebootstrap interesting to me?
02:10<jm_>interesting, this post suggests they are working together -- http://linux.codehelp.co.uk/?p=247

02:43<guardian>hello, a while ago, I bookmarked the following snippet http://pastebin.com/Tt8G23dG that as far as I understand tries to run localepurge in an unattended way
02:43<guardian>I'm not sure I understand what it really does, if someone can explain me the steps
02:43<guardian>I have the intuition it's less hackish to do something like e.g. DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive localepurge
02:44<guardian>(but I'm not even sure running localepurge after everything has been installed will remove locale files)
02:44-!-warhead [~warhead@00013050.user.oftc.net] has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
02:45<twb>Where is that syslinux bug where dba was uploading new major releases to unstable during the jessie release window, and debian-cd was like "please stop doing this, because the release process is a bit horrible for now" and dba was like "shut up, fix your release process"
02:46-!-OnkV [~quassel@85.124.51.57] has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
02:46<twb>guardian: ouch, I see your hack, I have a similar thing
02:46<twb>guardian: what is your end goal?
02:49<guardian>reduce a preseeded debian install before turning it into a vagrant box
02:49<twb>OK this is what I do: http://sprunge.us/gbdC
02:50<twb>Where "75no-docs" is >/etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/75no-docs printf 'path-exclude=%s/*\n' /usr/share/{doc,info,man,omf,help,gnome/help}
02:51<twb>You might want to "bts subscribe 603700" so that you know when the issue is fixed and you can remove the workaround
