04:26<lindi->Laurentia: depends on what you mean by properly. there are many features you might want from it
04:26<lindi->Laurentia: if you just run a wm and you haven't configured it at all you might have weird effects like PDF files being opened in GIMP and so on
04:27<lindi->Laurentia: (that particular example happens when you don't set the XDG_DATA_DIRS environment variable but there are lots of others)
04:36<chipollino>Hello. I'm trying to install llvm-3.6 package (and it's dependencies like libllvm-3.6-dev), but seems like it does not provide symlinks (like /usr/bin/clang), so configure script of program I need to compile can't find it. Should I create symlinks myself or there is better workaround? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

05:52<Nemoder>that would entirely depend on the hardware running it and the acceptable speed you want it to run at

08:39<robert>towo`, Perhaps there is no obvious relation or there are some circumstances that make Debian problematic with KVM. I don't know. But you may be right, I'll try to find some KVM channel.
08:39<somiaj>quantumman: my guess is it is something in your customization. I would create a newuser, and see if it works under that new user. If so might be best to just backup/nuke your current config in $HOME and recnofigure it.
08:39<towo`>robert, you will find the channel #kvm on freenode irc network
08:39<robert>towo`, thank you

17:40<f-a>ok
17:40<f-a>thanks
17:41<somiaj>f-a: read the man page for the difference. You shouldn't need dist-upgrade in jessie (but certain packages may require it). You will always need dist-upgrade between releases.

20:07<ryouma>what video editing programs on jessie actually work? last time i tried was on wheezy, and i tried all of them i could find, and most crashed or did not play the video. my task is to conveniently clip bad parts out of a video (or alternatively save good parts from a video) by specifying st and et with mouse.
