06:18<somiaj>superuser_: broadcom is just the extra annoying one since the firwmare cannot be distributed (unlike most non-free firwmare requiring cards)
06:18<somiaj>there are scripts to automate the process of cutting the firmware form the windows driver (which you can download but we can't distribute). But without an internet connenction it is a pain.

18:48<somiaj>thomasross: it is flash player and no, adobe flash does this and it is what you have to deal with
18:48<somiaj>thomasross: they do a trick where they open a file and while it is open for the cache they delete it. So the space is being used, but no files are seen.
18:49<thomasross>Okay... Guess I gotta resize my /tmp partition :P

18:50<somiaj>thomasross: ^^ it is in jessie-backports. It is a wrapper that works with iceweasel giving you a newer version of flash.
18:50<thomasross>somiaj: yeah, pepperflash doesn't do it, I used to use chromium + it

20:01<somiaj>ryouma: I think chromium and pepper flash is aboust as safe as you can get as it sandboxes everything.
20:04<ryouma>you mean even without running firejail?
20:06<somiaj>that is part of what the pepper api does in chromium
20:07<somiaj>I'm unsure what firejail is, but that was part of why chormium no longer supports napi, is because it cannot be sandboxed like pepper api plugins.

20:15<ryouma>anybody know why i get glitches when i type sometimes? it's like the line gets redrawn in a fraction of a second. could this be related to setting my own timings inorder to get quarter resolution? cvt gives different answers from gtf. it did not occur before i upgraded to jessie, however.
20:15<ryouma>it is intermittent. i only notice it in emacs. however, the same version of emacs on wheezy (bpo) did not have the issue. so i don't think it is an emacs issue.
