02:32<twb>Saxy: the problem is probably something like poor support for your graphics card.
02:32<Saxy>twb> thankx ... I figured this ... but do they BOTH have the display bugs? Do they BOTH have latenecy problems?
02:32<twb>Saxy: that depends on the hardware.
02:32<twb>Saxy: in any case, you are welcome to either ask an ubuntu channel for Xubuntu help, or to install Debian and get help here.

05:49<yuta>behinde router.

05:50<yuta>I want to set MTU 1478 on PC at LAN. but router's MTU is only 1500 to WAN.
05:51<babilen>yuta: Why do you want that?
05:51<yuta>1478 is efficient . babilen.
05:51<bazinga21>and if arm processors are supported
05:51<duclicsic>yuta: 1478 is less efficient than 1500
05:51<yuta>setting 1478 with ethernet is not problem ?
05:52<yuta>but PPPoA duclicsic.
05:52<babilen>bazinga21: I don't think that one can really define that suitably as most will work, but some might be unbearably slow. I'd recommend to use a lightweight window manager such as i3, awesomewm, fluxbox or openbox if you are concerned about resource usage
05:52<bazinga21>lxde?
05:53<yuta>WAN - MTU1500 - router - MTU1478 - my PC. :P
05:53<duclicsic>yuta: don't mess with MTU on the LAN
05:53<duclicsic>the router will set an appropriate MTU for the WAN interface
05:53<duclicsic>nothing else needs to change
05:53<yuta>I see. duclicsic .
05:53<duclicsic>your machines will perform path MTU discovery, and unless you go blocking all ICMP or something, it will work just fine.
05:54<babilen>bazinga21: I can't stand LXDE, but it is said to be a "lighter" DE, yes. In the end you'll have to try different variants and choose whatever you deem best for your environment. In the end no DE will really be "lightweight"
05:54<yuta>My router refuses ping from WAN . lol
05:54<yuta>duclicsic.
05:54<duclicsic>does it only refuse echo requests, or all ICMP?
05:55<duclicsic>refusing echo requests shouldn't break anything, even if it is a poinless 'security measure'
05:55<yuta>maybe all duclicsic
05:55<duclicsic>then your connection is already fundamentally broken
05:55<bazinga21>i have no problem with lxde
05:55<grawity>"refuses ping" doesn't mean "refuses everything"

07:14<grawity>that's a different problem; probably either the time it takes to load that sound from disk, or your soundcard's idle-powersave mode

14:27<dondelelcaro>hrm; there actually isn't a backport of tightvncserver
