09:04<Gabriel_7>(for ASLR)
09:04<xtro>... I know nothing of this - is it a new protocol?
09:04<Gabriel_7>Technically these are shared object.
09:05<Gabriel_7>ET_DYN is the type of ELF file used for .so files. But ASLR-enabled ELF executables are ET_DYN as well.
09:05<Gabriel_7>because ET_DYN gives the ELF file the ability to be mapped anywhere the virtual address space

09:07<Gabriel_7>xtro: Well thunar probably relies (indirectly) on this type for displaying the type of file.
09:07<xtro>Is there a way to force compilation to executable format?
09:08<xtro>over -rule ET_DYN?
09:08<Gabriel_7>xtro: -no-pie I guess

11:13<dpkg>Debian-Installer is able to load additional <firmware>, by including it within installation media or supplying on removable media (e.g. USB stick, floppy).
