12:14<ajh>OK, figured out more about the strange font size problems I was having, this is on Ubuntu 7.1 with the .20 packages. As the mythtv user the fonts are not adjusting correctly which is why I changed the themes manually, but then I ran the front-end user my user and they worked as expected. Would anyone have an idea what the bug is here? I'm suspecting the way it was packaged vs a myth specific bug, but...

12:16<ajh>you don't think bugs are development?
12:16<laga>and try a recent mythtv release
12:16<laga>no
12:16<laga>not with a release which is like a year old :)
12:16<ajh>so bugs are a user issue? :)
12:16<laga>you should file any bugs in the ubuntu bug tracker.
12:16<ajh>yeah, I'm putting in the new one now but that's what they're still shipping... :(

15:00<gbee>hmm, it's different, but I can't say that I dislike the change
15:01<gbee>would have required mythlistbutton to be hacked up to do the circular list style anyway so this is closer to how the mythui version of the screen would behave
15:02<janneg>I only like it partially, it's good if there are just some titles/categories
15:02<janneg>but for the full list I like the old behaviour more
15:03<gbee>it still wraps if you are at the top/bottom of the list, but it was nice to see where you were going
15:04<gbee>we'll see what happens when it's converted to mythui, entirely different layouts would be possible then and maybe someone will come up with a better idea

17:27<gbee>can anyone think of a situation where we wouldn't want a cancel button in a popup menu?
17:27<Chutt>space
17:27<Chutt>same reason we don't have exit buttons on normal screens, really
17:28<gbee>menu will scroll if needed, not as user friendly as having all options visible initially, but would it even be worth considering?
17:30<gbee>we could go the other direction, where we don't have any cancel buttons but guarenteed you'll always get users complaining that they can't use their 5 button apple remote
17:30<Chutt>yeah
17:30<Chutt>i don't care either way
17:30<Chutt>as long as 'escape' is always equivalent to cancel

17:32<gbee>adding a permanent cancel option is just something I'm considering for MythDialogBox since many dialogs already have one and if it's a permanent feature I can send the proper result id for cancellation (-1)

18:03<gbee>janneg: want me to valgrind, or just test that it doesn't break anything?
18:04<janneg>just test, I think I've covered the deletions
18:05<janneg>I might have fixed some memleaks, not all PtrList had auto delete activated
18:06<gbee>ok :)
18:07<gbee>hmm, I need to revert and try without the patch, mheg is broken but I don't know if it was the patch or something else
18:08<gbee>ahh, nope, looks Qt4 related :(
18:10<gbee>engine seems to work just rendering is broken, but it's hard to be sure when half the images aren't displayed

18:47<gbee>should be enough to debug the segfault, but not the rendering problem (unless you set it up as a dummy tuner and go to livetv maybe)

23:48<Chutt>no no, you haven't updated lately =)
23:48<Chutt>the title list used to wrap around
23:48<Chutt>so it'd start out with 'all programs' in the middle
