14:05*andythenorth adventures in the P1SIM forum
14:06<DanMacK>Hey andy
14:31<andythenorth>I like the p1 concept of different sea depths
14:32<andythenorth>that could have some gameplay benefits
14:32<andythenorth>do we have any spare water bits? :P
14:34<andythenorth>apparently lots, according to landscape_grid.html
14:35<@Alberth>quite likely, as we don't have signals at the water :p
14:35<andythenorth>deep and shallow sea, and a 'dredge' tool in the water construction toolbar
14:35<andythenorth>newgrf vars already exist to check water tile type
14:36<@Alberth>wouldn't an increase in height levels not be easier?
14:36<andythenorth>I don't know :)
14:36<andythenorth>the gameplay effect I'm seeking is simply to provide speed differences between different ship types
14:36<FLHerne>I'd like that :-)
14:37*FLHerne would like almost any new feature, actually...
14:37<andythenorth>it's an existing concept for rivers / sea
14:37<andythenorth>but allows a bit more differentiation of inshore sea, deep sea, lakes etc
14:38<andythenorth>maybe it's bad
14:38*andythenorth has gone off most new features recently
14:39<frosch123>andythenorth: there is a patch for that on the forums
14:39<andythenorth>there should be a centralised list of patches imo
14:39<frosch123>esp. the tzunami flooding is interesting
14:39<frosch123>andythenorth: i thought a list of patches you are looking for?
14:39<andythenorth>ideally
14:40<andythenorth>it needs to vary according to my personal need right now
14:40<andythenorth>and also anticipate mis-spelling and mis-remembering
14:40<andythenorth>also, if a patch I want doesn't exist, it should create it
14:41<andythenorth>hmm
14:42<andythenorth>searching was dull

14:52<andythenorth>did I?

14:53<andythenorth>probably have to search the logs
14:53<andythenorth>to remind me
14:53<andythenorth>do the logs have a list?
14:54<andythenorth>of 'stuff I'm looking for right now' ?
14:55<andythenorth>hmm

15:13<@Alberth>hi Flygon
15:18<Wolf01>I don't have the program or the video, but I have the parameters to create the video on brightcove and link it to the CDN, the only problem is that weird URL that the guy which does the streaming passed at me to do the embed, and without that URL the link at the streaming doesn't work, so would anybody which might know where to get those details be so kind to help me to understand where to look?
15:18<catpants>you might as well be speaking latin
15:18<FLHerne>andythenorth: I use it lots!
15:20<Wolf01>catpants, I already feel like Mr.Bean when I write more than 15 words in English in a sentence :P
15:20<andythenorth>Wolf01: can you reverse engineer it from another BC url?

15:21<catpants>i thought mr bean was a mute
15:21<Wolf01>I tried to figure it out by the other details, but I still miss the ANGLE and EVENT parameters
15:22<Wolf01>ANGLE seem to be a constant if the streaming only uses one cam, so I think I might put 0
15:22<Eddi|zuHause>Wolf01: mr. bean never spoke 15 words :)
15:22<NGC3982>Did anyone of you ever use MAME on LCD?

15:26<NGC3982>Wolf01: Oh, ok.
15:26<NGC3982>Well
15:26<NGC3982>It's blurry.
15:27<NGC3982>I'm using the Mame (0.147) i found on http://mamedev.org/. I use a 19" LCD monitor, and i wish to (if possible) play the games non-blurry (my first guess is scaled) on the full size monitor.
15:27<NGC3982>First of, is that possible? Can i scale the game graphics so it's not blurry?
15:27<@peter1138>why ask us?
15:27<Wolf01>yes, that's why I play on windowed mode and not fullscreen, the other reason is to be able to read the chat while playing
15:27<@peter1138>no doubt it has graphics scaling options, but blurry is probably most traditionaL :p
15:28<NGC3982>Wolf01: I see. But is it even possible for me to use scaling to prevent the blurryness in that sence?
15:28<NGC3982>peter1138: I would not say that LCD blurryness is traditional. :(
15:29<@Belugas>maybe get a BluRay OpenTTD version?
15:29<NGC3982>\o/
15:30<Wolf01>I don't have it installed right now, I lost it when I upgraded to Win7, but I found this: Used together with scanlines, the Bitmap Prescale option helps keep the graphics from looking too blurry when you upscale to the LCD's resolution. Raise the BP setting until you're satisfied with the image.
15:30<NGC3982>I noticed that.
15:30<NGC3982>Wolf01: Though, where (on earth!?) do i use that setting?
15:30<@peter1138>it's not traditional to use an LCD monitor for those games, no. a blurry crt is...
15:31<NGC3982>The documentation doesn't seem to tell me how to use the prescale option, or where to put such things at all.
15:31<NGC3982>Did i get the sunday version? :P

19:48<__ln___>does it have some particular dependency on Mac OS X 10.6+, or is it just the build environment?
19:49<DDR>I think it won't work on the 'old' mac OS, but it will on the new.
19:51<DDR>I /think/ that means 'newer than PowerPC'.
19:51<__ln___>i don't mean Mac OS classic, but i mean can it be compiled without much work on, say, 10.4?
19:51<DDR>Yeah.
19:51<__ln___>what's wrong with PowerPC?!
19:52<DDR>I think it's just old. It can be compiled for PowerPC, though, but the pre-compiled version won't work there.
19:52<DDR>I'm not the Mac packager, so I'm a little fuzzy on the details. :P
19:53<__ln___>PowerPC is the most popular processor for gaming.
19:54<__ln___>(though not on Mac)
19:58<DDR>Hm. The windows binary should be pretty much universal.
19:59*drac_boy sometimes fiddles too much with powerpcs ... literally
19:59<drac_boy>heh
