10:18<perk111>The game becomes very slow after I play for a while. And when I rejoin network game the speed is decent again, but the more I play the slower it becomes untill after about an hour it times out and gets disconnected. Can the cargo flow be the reason of it? I don't remember having this problem before
10:19<Eddi|zuHause>sprite cache size? memory leak?
10:19<Eddi|zuHause>if it's gone after rejoin, it can't be anything intrinsic to the game state
10:20<perk111>max_sprite_cache_size = 64 sprite_cache_size_px = 128
10:20<perk111>memory usage seems to be fine, but CPU is not

11:36<tycoondemon>so do I understand right that gridlines will not be coming back?
11:36<alluke>what?
11:40<tycoondemon>ow its an grf setting...
11:41<V453000>the original graphics cannot be changed anyway tycoondemon ;)
11:42<@planetmaker>I should make more such comments which can only be understood when context is viewed ;-)
11:42<V453000>:P
11:43<tycoondemon>yes well, when an "official" 32bpp will come out, will it support gridlines?
11:43<@planetmaker>zBase does support gridlines?
11:43<@Rubidium>what's "official"?
11:43<perk11>it doesn't have them I guess
11:43<V453000>it does
11:44<tycoondemon>official is like, wich is shiped default with stable openttd
11:44<@planetmaker>no graphics are shipped with any openttd
11:45<@Rubidium>thus... openttd doesn't have official graphics, sounds or music
11:45<tycoondemon>a default shipped newgrf then?
11:45<@planetmaker>except openttd.grf really
11:45<perk11>yes I was wrong, zBase does have gridlines
11:45<@planetmaker>tycoondemon, why should we suddenly start doing so?
11:46<tycoondemon>well when you install a fresh game without the original cat files
11:47<tycoondemon>it also works, so then it has use some kind of default graphic
11:47<@planetmaker>what is "original"?
11:47<tycoondemon>ttd
11:47<tycoondemon>cat files
11:47<@planetmaker>is it?
11:48<tycoondemon>is it not?
11:48*planetmaker has a different idea of what constitutes "original work" :-)
11:48-!-DarkAce-Z is now known as DarkAceZ
11:49<tycoondemon>I did not say original work
11:49<tycoondemon>original is simply a term to refer to the old ttd files
11:50<tycoondemon>I still have an win95 pc with ttd on it
11:50<tycoondemon>and I eaven have an install cd somewhere
11:50<tycoondemon>the cat file from that, do I refer to as original
11:54<perk11>when you use installer the game offers to download the OpenGFX. And even if you don't do it, it still offers to do so on first run if no graffic sets are found, so OpenGFX may be considered default graphics set
11:55<tycoondemon>this is what I mean
11:55<@planetmaker>yet openttd does not ship it ;-) </splitting hairs>
11:58<@planetmaker>though from an end-user perspective the difference is rather academic
11:59<tycoondemon>sigh
11:59<tycoondemon>shig
11:59<tycoondemon>zucht

12:03<@planetmaker>tycoondemon, generally, many things can be improved
12:03<@planetmaker>it's a matter that they bother s/o enough to actually spend time on improving them
12:04<@planetmaker>everything here is publicly accessible... thus anyone can have a look how things work and work on improving it the way s/he think it's better
12:04<@planetmaker>Then it's a matter of being convincing that many people agree
12:09<@planetmaker>the 'being convincing' part actually is not required really

16:16<@planetmaker>MNIM, airport rotations are in trunk for two years
16:16<@planetmaker>you just need to use a NewGRF which supports it
16:27<@DorpsGek>Commit by rubidium :: r25274 /trunk/src (depend/depend.cpp object_gui.cpp) (2013-05-20 20:26:56 UTC)
16:27<@DorpsGek>-Cleanup: remove unused class instance variables
16:28<@planetmaker>MNIM, in the build view of airports you have tiny buttons which can rotate the airports left / right

16:39<@Terkhen>good night
16:45<MNIM>planetmaker: sorry for the late response, bu-nevermind
16:45<MNIM>tiny buttons sounds about right
16:45<@peter1138>typical. SMART says my broken hdd is fine
16:45*MNIM fails hard, apparently
16:46<MNIM>thanks
16:48<@peter1138>raw read error rate = 0
16:49<@peter1138>why :/
16:49<MNIM>peter1138: dumb suggestion, maybe, but have you tried blaming the OS yet?
16:51<@peter1138>well£
16:55<MNIM>Oops. another one of my silly stupid little errors.
16:56<MNIM>forgot to build back a bridge
16:56<MNIM>trains jammed up over three stations
16:59<permagreen>Yesterday I spent a good five minutes trying to figure out why my buses couldn't get out of the depot only to discover I'd built it facing the wrong way

17:06<NGC3982>Does*
17:06<permagreen>It's like the old saying goes: You can't learn how to use signals without blowing up a few trains
17:07<NGC3982>Hehe, indeed.
17:07<@peter1138>MNIM, i could, but the way the drive stops spinning every now and then is ominous :p

17:15<MNIM>any blown trains were usually the result of me forgetting to pause while messing with them
17:15<MNIM>peter1138: okay, probably not the OS.
17:16<permagreen>Learning signals was my project last night and it actually only resulted in one collision because I was being dumb about it
