03:42<@DorpsGek> - Since these are different components, distributed under a different

06:28<@peter1138>while (true);
06:28<@peter1138>I wonder where that code came from...
06:28<LordAro>ouch
06:29<@peter1138>I guess it was a refactor gone wrong.
06:29<@Rubidium>tss... such bad code. for (;;); is much faster ;)
06:30<V453000>;;;;;;;;;;
06:31<@peter1138>Weirdly, it doesn't detect the code further on as unreachable.
06:32<__ln__>it could be reachable once the large hadron collider has destroyed the world and made true false.
06:33<LordAro>__ln__: relevant: http://xkcd.com/1266/

06:34<@peter1138>If I use for (;;); it *does* complain about unreachable code.
06:35<__ln__>Rubidium: actually, gcc -O3 generates exactly the same code for both for and while.

07:28<Eddi|zuHause>that wouldn't have happened if they used a different reserved word like "until" for end-check loops
07:29<LordAro> so, why did it report unreachable code, instead of a compile error? :L
07:30<__ln__>what would be the error?
07:30<@peter1138>http://www.corsair.com/us/900d-seb
07:31<@peter1138>I changed it to a while (true) { } loop, much easier to see at a glance

08:50<@peter1138>Everyone is.
08:51<V453000>.
08:52<Eddi|zuHause>that's not proven
08:52<Eddi|zuHause>if you count the number of people that ever lived against the number of people that ever died, you get something like 80%
08:53<V453000>wat :D
08:53<Eddi|zuHause>(if that number ever reaches 100%, mankind is extinct)
08:53<V453000>woohooo I am not dying
08:53<V453000>thanks Eddi
08:54<blathijs>Eddi|zuHause: So statistics say that people have an 80% of dying eventually on average? :-)
08:55<V453000>YES
08:55<Eddi|zuHause>something like that :)
08:56<Eddi|zuHause>don't ever believe a statistic you didn't fake yourself :p
08:57<@peter1138>Probably a silly question, but did a new version of DBSet ever get released?

08:59<V453000>yay for active development
08:59<Eddi|zuHause>well there was occasionally some movement, and probably it's "almost done", but 11.11.11 and 12.12.12 passed without a release
09:00<V453000>even a year between releases isnt really development, imo
09:00<Eddi|zuHause>the current release is 5.5.5
09:00<V453000>yes, just that much worse :)
09:01<Eddi|zuHause>if you don't count the ECS/FIRS addons
09:02<V453000>tever :)
09:03<@peter1138>Fill my petrol tank today, first time since for ever.
09:03<@peter1138>£75 :(
09:04<@peter1138>*Filled
09:04<V453000>same prices here more or less
09:06<DanMacK>ouch
09:07<DanMacK>how much a litre Peter?
09:07<@peter1138>£1.37
09:07<V453000>hm expected like .8 :)
09:08<DanMacK>Given exchange, that's about what we're paying
09:09<DanMacK>$1.25ish per litre
09:09<DanMacK>so about £0.75
09:09<DanMacK>and we're bitching... Wow lol
09:09<V453000>yeah thats more like here
09:09<oskari89>Here we pay 1.70 euros for 1 litre of 98-octane
09:09<DanMacK>Where are you V?
09:10<V453000>czech beerpublic
09:10<DanMacK>lol
09:10<V453000>~1 beer for a litre
09:10<DanMacK>Canada here
09:10<DanMacK>lmao
09:10<oskari89>Talk about expensive gasoline :P
09:11<oskari89>Diesel is not much less expensive, 1.40 euros/l or something like that
09:11<@peter1138>Diesel is more expensive in the UK.
09:12<oskari89>But here we get extra "diesel-car-tax" for that price :P
09:12<Xaroth|Work>here we pay 1.70 for euro 95 :|
09:12<Xaroth|Work>and 1.90-ish for 98 :|
09:12<oskari89>:(
09:12<oskari89>E85 though is some 1.1 euros per litre
09:12<@peter1138>Ah, £1.37 is €1.63
09:12<oskari89>(Ethanol 85%)
09:12<@peter1138>So not much less.
09:13<Eddi|zuHause>last time i filled my tank was 1.60€ per liter (95, without E10)
09:13<Eddi|zuHause>but it is highly fluctuating, about 10¢ during each week
09:13<V453000>fun part is, german gasoline is a tiny bit more expensive than in beerland, but it is better quality so you can drive about equally the same distance for the same price
09:15<Eddi|zuHause>E10 is 3¢ cheaper, but not all cars are compatible with it. and i have a rather old car
09:16<__ln__>i bet Eddi's "rather old car" is "relatively new car" by finnish standards
09:18<Eddi|zuHause>it's a 1993 ford escort
09:19<Eddi|zuHause>some gas stations still sell 91 octane, but the price is the same as 95
09:19<__ln__>m'kay, maybe not "relatively new", but not exceptionally old either.
09:20<Eddi|zuHause>it's not "historic" :p
09:20<@peter1138>E10 is cheaper, but do you end up using more of it?
09:22<Eddi|zuHause>no idea, never tried
09:22<@peter1138>Probably depends on the car also.
09:23<Eddi|zuHause>and E10 is actually stupid, as long as crop is grown specifically to produce "bio" fuel, instead of using side products from food production
09:23<oskari89>Or algae
09:24<oskari89>Algae seems to be a next "crure-bio-oil" source
09:24<oskari89>It has it's problems though
09:24<__ln__>*its
09:29<@peter1138>Well damn, my mug of tea ran out.

13:35<V453000>how is gamespeed ever a concern? :D
13:36<Japa>V453000, in our multiplayer games, years have been going by too fast.
13:36<V453000>but what is the actual problem
13:37<V453000>I doubt the problem is a number of the year
13:38<Japa>I'm not actually sure, tbh. I haven't really been playing on his server nearly as often as some people, but I didn't notice anything.
13:39<V453000>well the only problem could be that you arent getting trains often enough / too often
13:39<V453000>or for too short duration
13:40<V453000>to which a good solution is generally using a better train set, and pausing the game when nobody is playing
13:40<V453000>other than that 150 years take like 2 days of playing almost nonstop, which is a lot? :D

14:48<@DorpsGek>-Feature: [Script] Allow AIs and GS to found towns. Allow GS to rename towns
14:53<Eddi|zuHause>a feature. how random.
15:00<Zuu>Maybe it could have been an -Add instead. But well it is a feature for script authors and it caries a note about being related to Script.

16:19<Eddi|zuHause>why is there no "useful" information in the newgrf debug window for vehicles?
16:21<@Rubidium>because there are no vehicles?
16:22<Eddi|zuHause>it shows some random 40+ vars and "callbacks" (but not their results), while i want to view 80+ vars
16:22<Eddi|zuHause>and it has no way to show info for vehicles further down the vehicle chain, only the front vehicle

16:27<Eddi|zuHause>and to bring that over the top: there's no way to follow the evaluation of a callback chain :)
