08:24<Dozer>Does anyone know, how I change the folder for where the autosave is stored?
08:26<V453000>why would you do that :d
08:29-!-ntoskrnl [~not@a91-153-231-146.elisa-laajakaista.fi] has quit [Ping timeout: 480 seconds]
08:29<Dozer>V453000 I play the same savegame on several computers, depending on where I am. So just want it to save it to the cloud, so I always have it with me automtically.
08:30<V453000>XD
08:30<V453000>well you could move the whole openttd folder to e.g. dropbox I assume
08:31<Dozer>nah
08:35<V453000>thing is, when loading, you would have to either copy the savegame, or browse through openttd to navigate to that folder
08:36<V453000>so saving it manually when leaving home/work/where-ever is probably equally demanding
08:39<@planetmaker>you can re-compile the game from modified sources ;-) Or read section 4.2. OpenTTD operates relative the the openttd.cfg which can be in the places as described in the aforementioned readme section
08:40<@planetmaker>if needed, use symlinks. If you OS / FS doesn't support them, get a better one
08:40<dihedral>you can simply use the sync tool provided by the cloud provider in order to keep your autosave / save games up to date
08:41<@planetmaker>"good day, is there NSA headquarters? I lost a savegame due to some accident. From Sunday, around 17h local time. could you please restore it?"
08:41<@planetmaker>:D
08:41<V453000>they dont monitor .sav files after they opened mine
08:41<V453000>:P
08:42<@planetmaker>they monitor sav files because they opened yours.
08:42<@planetmaker>;-)
08:43<juzza1>create an autosave folder at the cloud and symlink it to each openttd installation. _should_ work

09:45<DanMacK>Hey all
09:46<Xaroth|Work>seriously, why doesn't openttd have a trailer narrated by sean bean yet?
09:46<oskari89>:D
09:47<AndreasB>whos sean bean?
09:47<oskari89>TS2014 does ;)
09:47<Xaroth|Work>TS2014 does indeed
09:47<Xaroth|Work>and so should openttd tbh
09:47<Xaroth|Work>AndreasB: Sean Bean.. google him
09:47<Xaroth|Work>or, if you're into the game of thrones tv series, Ned Stark.
09:48<Dozer>planetmaker there isn't any easier way of doing it, than have to compile the entire game from scratch? :D
09:48<@planetmaker>I quoted all options. That was only the first
09:48<Dozer>Ah yeah.
09:48<Dozer>What is symlinks?
09:49<Dozer>No clie what it is.
09:49<Xaroth|Work>junctions on windows
09:49<Xaroth|Work>symlinks on unix based stuff
09:49<AndreasB>junctions ?:S
09:49<Xaroth|Work>yes, Junctions
09:49<Dozer>Yeah, junktions?
09:49<Dozer>That explanation didnt clear up anything for me.
09:49<Dozer>If anything, it only created more questions.
09:50<Xaroth|Work>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_junction_point
09:50<AndreasB>LOL
09:50<AndreasB>I tried mounting an HD to a dir once
09:50<AndreasB>that fubared
09:51<Xaroth|Work>then again, ms finally figured out to improve junctions by implementing NTFS Symlinks, but isn't available until vista iirc
09:51<Xaroth|Work>where junctions are win2k+
09:51<AndreasB>Hell no, let unix keep symlinks
09:52<AndreasB>dont need that on winblows
09:52<Xaroth|Work>...
09:52<Xaroth|Work>sysadmins would disagree with you on that
09:52<AndreasB>what?
09:52<AndreasB>bs
09:53<@planetmaker>yeah, let windows lack that also in future. It'sa dying OS anyway :-)
09:53<Xaroth|Work>symlinks can be quite useful, and it's pretty sucky that windows didn't support it properly until a few years ago
09:53<AndreasB>For like what Xaroth ?
09:53<AndreasB>what on earth could you possibly need it for on winblows?
09:53<@planetmaker>for like what I dozer wants for instance
09:53<@planetmaker>s/I/like/
09:53<Xaroth|Work>AndreasB: I use junctions/symlinks on my home pc
09:54<Xaroth|Work>mainly because I don't want certain stuff on certain paths, since that's my SSD
09:54<Dozer>planetmaker I'm sorry to say, but windows is in no way a dying OS.
09:54<Xaroth|Work>Dozer: your sarcasm meter is broken

10:01<V453000>what is the difference between ios and mac?
10:01<V453000>I thought ios is the os on macs :D
10:01<TinoDidriksen>OS X is Mac's OS
10:01<TinoDidriksen>iOS is iPhone/iPad
10:02<V453000>right
10:02<@planetmaker>iOS is to OSX what WindowsPhone is to Windows7
10:03<AndreasB>lol
10:03<AndreasB>Difference is on windows only windowsphone sucks
10:03<AndreasB>both ios and osx is SHIT
10:03<AndreasB>everything apple touches turns to shit
10:03<alluke>osx / wp7 godtier :D
10:03<__ln__>AndreasB: i don't suppose you have any evidence on that
10:04<V453000>because you cant shoot people with apple games? :D
10:04<@planetmaker>__ln__, he obviously knows first-hand. By comparing all the devices against eachother
10:04<@planetmaker>don't you see that from the qualified analysis he supplied?
10:04<__ln__>oh yes
10:04<AndreasB>__ln__: One can see that by looking at apples patents, among other things
10:04<AndreasB>Also I've owned an iphone
10:05<AndreasB>It broke by being dropped
10:05<V453000>XD
10:05<TinoDidriksen>...duh? Most eletronics do.
10:05<V453000>very unusual
10:05<AndreasB>Nokia doesnt
10:05<AndreasB>HTC doesnt
10:05<V453000>any smartphone is generally very fragile to being dropped
10:05<AndreasB>Did you say most electronics DOESNT?
10:06<AndreasB>I agree
10:06<alluke>drop your tv and see what happens
10:06<AndreasB>TV isnt a phone
10:06<alluke>theyre both electronics
10:06<TinoDidriksen>Most electronics break when dropped. I am confident if you subjected the Nokia and HTC to the same angle and G-force as the iPhone, they would also break.
10:06<Japa>My sony phone was dropped many times
10:06<AndreasB>They are not both "most electrnics"
10:07<Japa>Most of the paint has chipped off
10:07<Japa>and there's dust inside the screen
10:07<Japa>but it runs great still
10:07<AndreasB>^
10:07<AndreasB>Do that with an iphone
10:07<AndreasB>It breaks first time you drop it
10:07<Japa>haha shattered screen
10:07<TinoDidriksen>If things land flat, they're fine. If they land on a corner, probably not so fine.
10:07<AndreasB>My old nokia, I through it at a wall
10:07<AndreasB>Picked it up, put it back together, nothing broken
10:08<TinoDidriksen>And it had the same specs as the iPhone?
10:08<Japa>Generally plastic bodied phones are more sturdy.
10:08<Japa>Glass tends to shatter
10:08<AndreasB>Well
10:09<AndreasB>Did you forget remove that ONE little sand particle from your iphone-thingie?

10:17<Xaroth|Work>the apple vs non-apple fight
10:18<Eddi|zuHause>all smartphones are shit!!
10:19<Xaroth|Work>I did, however, snigger at the price of apple's new 'budget' version of the iphone
10:19<Xaroth|Work>600 bucks, budget :|
10:22*Japa does a quick conversion
10:22<Japa>BAH
10:23<Japa>Well
10:24<Japa>that's a whole $70 less than Sony's top phone over here.
10:25<Japa>Actually, that's a bad comparison
10:25<Japa>Prices in general are cheaper here
10:26<Xaroth|Work>meh
10:26<Japa>5c is the cheaper one, right?
10:26<Xaroth|Work>yeh
10:27<Xaroth|Work>the galaxy s4 is 520 euro, the htc one is 550, the iphone 5 (not s/c) 16gb is 620 euro here.
10:27<Xaroth|Work>with the 5s to range between 700 and 1000 euros depending on amount of storage
10:28<Japa>How much is the Xperia Z1?
10:28<Xaroth|Work>642
10:28<Xaroth|Work>and the lg g2 is 550
10:28<Japa>That matches the price here, more or less.
10:29<Eddi|zuHause>what happened to phones for 20€?
10:29<Japa>They're still there.
10:29<Xaroth|Work>they are stil there
10:29<Xaroth|Work>the Nokio 100
10:29<Xaroth|Work>for 22 euro
10:29<Xaroth|Work>the 101 for 26
10:29<Japa>And they're still indestructible
10:29<Xaroth|Work>and the 206 for 63
10:30<Xaroth|Work>lolz
10:30<Xaroth|Work>apparently the nokia 100 is being sold with a data bundle
10:30<Xaroth|Work>that phone doesn't even have data capacity :|
10:31<Japa>pfft
10:31<Xaroth|Work>(the 101 is the dual-sim version of the 100 btw)
10:32<Japa>I can't remember the model number of my first nokia, but it was the one with the disco lights
10:32<Japa>Ah, there it is
10:32<Japa>3220
10:33<Japa>That phone rocked
10:33<Eddi|zuHause>my work phone says 3720
10:33<Xaroth|Work>holy shit, the 206 has an apparent stand-by time of a month and a half
10:33<Eddi|zuHause>no clue what that cost
10:34<Xaroth|Work>I should get me one of those for the zombie apocalypse
10:34<Eddi|zuHause>my standby time is about 2-3 weeks
10:35<alluke>when will sotm voting begin

10:35<Japa>What modern phone can do this, seriously?
10:36<Xaroth|Work>I... am not sure if that counts as a 'must have' feature :|
10:36<Japa>:D
10:39<Japa>It totally is.
10:39<Japa>Anyway
10:39<Japa>I'm wondering if there will be a new sony phone before I save up for my new one
