03:44<MuhQ>good morning !
03:46<MuhQ>hey guys i have a problem with a newgrf on my dedicated server. I downloaded the new modern tram set via console content update -> content select 1634 -> content download. I added it in the openttd.cfg and restart the server but i cant use the newgrf... what's wrong? (openttd v1.3.2 stable)
03:46<MuhQ>need help pls : )
03:48<MuhQ>i don't have any gui on the server... only SSH! : )
03:49<Xaroth|Work>check the console commands list
03:49<Xaroth|Work>you can tell it to download newgrf
03:49<Xaroth|Work>properly
03:51<MuhQ>I did it with "rcon "password" "content download"
03:51<MuhQ>the TAR file is available in the content_download directory
03:51<krinn>openttd should gave a reject message on problem
03:52<MuhQ>Where? In a special log file or directly to the console?
03:52<krinn>at least when starting
03:53<MuhQ>hmm.. there is no error ...
03:54<krinn>i'm not expert for newgrf trouble, but -d grf should provide what you need

03:56<@Alberth>and you pay well for my services, for which I thank you
03:57<krinn>is that a call for a new payment already ? I did paid you 3rd times this week !!!
03:58<MuhQ>:D
03:58<krinn>and the last one wasn't really worth it, i got rain and didn't took my umbrella because of it
04:01<@Alberth>you didn't read the small print, did you?
04:01<krinn>of course not :D

04:03<@Alberth>oh dear
04:06<@Alberth>MuhQ: you may want to start by verifying that the newgrf is actually 1.3.2 compatible
04:08<@Rubidium>MuhQ: did you edit openttd.cfg before shutting down the server? If so, shutting down the server has overwritten the cfg with the variant without the NewGRF configuration
04:08<@planetmaker>moin
04:08<@Alberth>moin planetmaker, Rubidium
04:08<MuhQ>i directy downloaded it with the 1.3.2 version in the console. I just realized that it work, but only if i start a new game... i like to have it on my existing game....
04:08<LordAro>/o Rubidium, planetmaker
04:09<@Alberth>MuhQ: not possible
04:09<MuhQ>damn :D
04:09<krinn>MuhQ and you didn't have to pay a penny ! Luckier than me
04:09<MuhQ>thanks for the information
04:09<@Alberth>yw

09:35<krinn>i think there was a logic, apply in AI for AI, in GS for GS...

09:37<@planetmaker>well, there's a link now, too, on the GS projects page
09:37<krinn>http://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/scriptlib-scp hosts both AI/GS libs
09:38<krinn>and i think Zuu has made superlib for GS too
09:38<frosch123>[15:33] <planetmaker> http://dev.openttdcoop.org/ask_new_project <-- smaller link, same target :) <- is there a similiar link for translators? which i could put on the eints frontpage?
09:39<frosch123>http://bananas.openttd.org/en/gslibrary/ <- most ai libraries also exist as gs lib
09:40<krinn>last time i pickup AssignTo it fails if i remember ? should leave it empty?
09:40<@planetmaker>yes. You could also simply tell me now the projectname
09:40<@planetmaker>and skip creating the issue ;-)
09:40<krinn>Awards
09:41<@planetmaker>gs-awards?
09:41<@planetmaker>or gslib-awards?
09:41<krinn>not a lib
09:41<krinn><planetmaker> gs-awards? <- fine for me
09:42<frosch123>though that link is not as useful if you have to register first at devzone
09:42<@planetmaker>only the URL can't be changed as it corresponds to the local FS dir name
09:42<frosch123>so, maybe the link to projects/home is better
09:43<krinn>i still have the RO message, where can i upload my public rsa ?

09:47<@planetmaker>hgweb didn't like that many ;-)
09:48<frosch123>hmm, someone tried whether the size/timeout limit still applies to pull/push via https ?
09:48<krinn>can hg push ssh://hg@hg.../projectname ?
09:48<@planetmaker>I didn't. But it didn't apply with the previous rhodecode install

09:49<krinn>ok thanks
09:53<@planetmaker>repository should exist now
09:54<krinn>unsure, all goes fine, but can't see update there, need few time ?
09:55<@planetmaker>I see it. Redmine's web interface sometimes needs a bit to notice
09:55<krinn>yep see it now, all fine! thanks
09:56<@planetmaker>you're welcome

09:57<krinn>so slooowww
09:57<@planetmaker>devzone has its slow times, too from time to time :D
09:58<krinn>yep, but you don't need to read it while it goes slow :)
09:58<@planetmaker>:-)
09:58<peter1138>Does devzone support git?
09:58<@planetmaker>in principle yes
09:59<krinn>dunno but hg is doing the work fine
10:00<frosch123>git fanboys use github basically
10:00<@planetmaker>the switch from hgweb to rhodecode made it possible to unify the web interface for both hg and git

10:01<krinn>lol yes, that's the story i speak of
10:01<peter1138>Good job you have everything locally too.
10:02<@planetmaker>well, you can read the story on reddit or hackernews. It's not that easily, peter1138
10:02<krinn>sure, but what a hell when you pull that
10:03<peter1138>I don't read reddit.
10:03<peter1138>Or hackernews.
10:03<frosch123>are you too old for irc? :p
10:03<@planetmaker>nor do I. I saw that in ... #jenkins ;-)
10:03<peter1138>But if you fuck a repo (hg or git) and you've got other instances... what's the problem? o_O
10:03<SpComb>https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6713742
10:04<@planetmaker>peter1138, the problem is the rewritten history on the server
10:04<@planetmaker>without the option to simply push a 'revert'
10:04<peter1138>Just replace it with a known-good clone.
10:05<krinn>and if you pull it without knowing, hell i don't wanna dig all git commands to restore my local dir
10:05<SpComb>the head refs are very much a local concept

10:05<krinn>over 150 repos :)
10:06<krinn>i read the guy dig it to find out more repos were corrupt
10:07<SpComb>essentially you rewind the head pointer to some arbitrary older commit
10:07<krinn>anyway, sure any push done after that are lost for good

12:50<frosch123>krinn: #openttd.dev is a separate irc channel, meant for development related discussions, when this channel is too spammy
12:50<peter1138>Reread, not repost :)
12:50<frosch123>to distinguish this channel from the other, people cannot talk by default in .dev

12:51<peter1138>Sure you can. The request was about that other channel though.
12:51<frosch123>this channel is fine
12:51<frosch123>the other one is only for backup
12:51<frosch123>when andy is here :p
12:51<frosch123>or when you post a patch for review, and don't expect an answer in the next 8 hours
12:52<frosch123>because everyone is at work
12:52<frosch123>both channels have logs, but it's not really worth the time to read the backlog for this one :p
12:52<krinn>lol how many chans about openttd are there ?

12:55<@planetmaker>It very much is so
12:56<@planetmaker>the others are backup when there's two intense discussions
12:56<frosch123>the .noai channel never was particulary acive

19:34<krinn>i don't know the one you speak of, but i don't think any others patch that handle cargo distribution will be include as cargodist has been add. I'm not saying it won't be added, but with cargodist i suppose openttd devs choose to support one, supporting multi-features that would do similar things looks a bit silly
19:36<Vadtec>i dont really remember what it was
19:37<Vadtec>i thought someone was working on adding it to openttd as a core feature
19:37<Vadtec>but so far all im finding is the cargodist builds
19:37<krinn>it propabably never happen : keep in mind it's what i think, i'm not ottd dev
19:38<krinn>but now that cargodist is within, if i were other cargo dist like patch maker i would : 1/ don't gives a shit and keep doing my own patch 2/ produce patch to cargodist that add the feature my previous patch have, as this time, this might get included
19:39<Vadtec>when you say "within" do you mean it can be enabled in stock openttd or that you still have to download the cargodist releases?
19:39<krinn>a bit like : now a roof was add, keep doing your own house or add stones to the existing base
