07:00<Eddi|zuHause>the "average" was 6.something yesterday
07:03<Eddi|zuHause>but i already have civ5 and the 1st expansion
07:04<Xaroth|Work>then you only have to pay a buck :)
07:04<Xaroth|Work>and I think a lot are going for the 15 buck combo deal
07:04<Xaroth|Work>to have all the DLC
07:05<Eddi|zuHause>yeah, but i could have gotten that at the christmas sale on steam...
07:07<SpComb>since when is paying more for more content referred to as "unlocking" :)
07:07<SpComb>but good on Sid Meier to have kept distribution rights for himself
07:11<Xaroth|Work>because that's how humble bundle works
07:11<Xaroth|Work>you pay how much you want
07:11<Xaroth|Work>and if you reach a certain amount, you 'unlock' more :)
07:13<SpComb>that's probably a valid distinction for how it originally worked, but the new model is presumeably somewhat more complicated :P
07:13<SpComb>and reminiscent of rather more traditional sales
07:13<SpComb>like having a fixed price for something ^^
07:13<SpComb>"pay $15 to unlock ..."
07:15<Eddi|zuHause>maybe "include" is a better word
07:15<SpComb>or just "buy" :P
07:15<SpComb>but then it wouldn't be as humble
07:16<Eddi|zuHause>i mean "if you pay x$ the bundle includes yyy"
07:16<SpComb>I am sure that many people have spent a significant amount of time deciding on the exact language to use there :P
07:16<SpComb>I shall not fall for their psychology!
07:18<SpComb>besides, where are the charities; they are going to be killing baby fur seals next for every dollar you pay
07:19<Eddi|zuHause>there's an explanation at the bottom
07:26<SpComb>I won't let the facts disturb my delicate mock outrage :P
07:28<Eddi|zuHause>we call that "esoteric"
07:29<Eddi|zuHause>when you advocate superstitions and dismiss every fact speaking against it
07:30<Eddi|zuHause>for example "if we add more surveillance, we get more security"

09:58-!-Kurimus [~stabbity@dsl-tkubrasgw2-54f816-197.dhcp.inet.fi] has quit []
09:59<Japa>That happened to me while the train I was in was waiting just outside of a terminus station that was clogged.
10:04<Eddi|zuHause>no, that never happens to us. you must be going crazy
10:05<__ln__>Japa: Yes I did stop thinking about that when a Zeppelin flew by my house.
10:05*Pinkbeast has certainly never got on a train thinking "I don't really know where I want to go, so I'll just get off at the next stop, wherever that is." :-)
10:06<Japa>Pinkbeast, that's because RL has cargodist.
10:06<Japa>Also, a thought occurred to me.
10:06<Japa>Can cargoes be customized in regards to cargodist?
10:07<Pinkbeast>Not AFAIK beyond turning it off/symmetric/async for the four classes of cargo
10:08<Japa>like, have a cargo type prefer short distances over long ones.
10:08<Japa>Or vice versa.
10:08<Japa>So you could have, say, express passengers that will always want to go several cities over.
10:09<Japa>and local passengers that have far more per car, but never want to go very long distance.
10:09-!-roadt [~roadt@60.168.89.163] has joined #openttd
10:09<Japa>I suppose that could also be done with cargo payment rates.
10:10<Japa>Local passengers don't increase the profit much with distance, but do decrease it quite a lot with time
10:11<Pinkbeast>AFAIK you can't do much but set the overall degree to which cargodist is affected by distance.

11:52<slee>hello, i was wondering if there was a script(whatever) to make trains a bit smarter...so a train can sense if another(slower) train is ahead of it and slow down some so it doesn't just slam into the blocked section and come to a complete stop
11:53<Miauw>Generating a 1024^2 just for me...
11:54<lugo>slee: well there is/was a patch for that..

13:48<Miauw>I love how the passengers from this village say "xy passengers to any station"
13:48<Miauw>as if they want to go anywhere
13:48<Miauw>as long as it's not there

16:39<andythenorth>is traffic good?
16:39<Pikka>and I got tired of rerendering sprites with new lighting for the nth time
16:39<Pikka>I haven't got to the towncars yet :) so far I'm making local bus services, to (hopefully) keep it afloat
16:40<andythenorth>oh it needs money :P
16:40<andythenorth>how tiresome
16:40<Pikka>it builds an hq, and a depot, and some bus stops, and some buses, so I guess it's going fairly well so far.
16:40<Pikka>well, also local bus services are nice
16:40<Pikka>grow towns the player hasn't got to, and such.
16:40<Pikka>it's also going to build roads between the towns, so it needs money for that
16:40<andythenorth>just search for a signed integer bug in the game somewhere, then it can have free money
16:41<andythenorth>sounds like an AI I might actually use
16:41<Pikka>and in the unlikely event it ever ends up with more money than it knows what to do with, it will do roadworks. just to be evil.
16:41<andythenorth>I often feel lonely on my maps :(
16:41<andythenorth>sad times
16:41<Pikka>should get peter1139 to host servers again
16:41<andythenorth>at least two of them
16:42<andythenorth>time I have not much
16:42<andythenorth>do you have industries yet?
16:42<Pikka>I don't have anything
16:43<andythenorth>well there's always FIRSes

16:43<Pikka>there is always FIRSes
16:43<andythenorth>lots of FIRSes
16:43<andythenorth>I have unfinished trains
16:44<Pikka>AI is more fun to test than newgrfs
16:44<Pikka>no waiting for ten minutes for compile, you just save the script then hit the button in OTTD to reload
