08:11<DigitalFox>Hello, good morning! :)
08:12<DigitalFox>I know most of the players here don't need the following topic, but what do you think: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=70779
08:20<peter1139>What am I looking at?
08:22<DigitalFox>A simple tutorial on how to make GRF Separators, nothing breathtaking :)

08:33<@planetmaker>why did I read that as "bottletesting"?
08:33*planetmaker goes and makes more tea
08:37<peter1139>Not sure what I need GRF Separators for.
08:38<V453000>it looks ogranized peter1139, but it isnt really useful
08:39<V453000>I still think that "using newGRF for everything is a must" is not the best approach though
08:39<V453000>which these separators usually come out of
08:40<@planetmaker>it's mostly useful when you don't know OpenTTD's filtering option for the grf list
08:40<V453000>:D
08:41<@planetmaker>otherwise they make game exchange only more hasslesome. As one needs those very newgrfs as well in order to load savegames which use it
08:42<Diablo-D3>so will openttd ever have autodownload from bananna?
08:43<V453000>well if it is on bananas, it is ok

09:30<NGC982_>I think i need help to understand this
09:30<NGC982_>I want an order that skips the current order and does something else when reliability is lower than 65.
09:30<NGC982_>I thought i did it right, but it seems i did not.
09:31<peter1139>I see the problem. It's in a funny language.
09:32<V453000>peter1139 is correct
09:33<NGC982_>:/
09:34<@planetmaker>NGC982_, it will work. But the check is only done once, when the conditional order is actually reached. When the reliability after it was considered drops, the next order is still executed
09:34<NGC982_>Ah, i see.
09:35<@planetmaker>so your vehicle had a reliability of >=65 when the check was done, pretty sure. But then drove around long enough to loose another 10%
09:36<peter1139>What do the conditional orders do?
09:36<@planetmaker>jump :P
09:36<peter1139>In this instance, obviously.
09:36<peter1139>I kinda wasn't joking about the langauge :p
09:37<@planetmaker>if reliability <= 65 goto order XY
09:37<@planetmaker>and the order XY is goto nearest depot
09:37<peter1139>Oh...
09:37<peter1139>Why would you use conditional orders for that?
09:37<@planetmaker>that's my interpretation without being able to speak finnish
09:37<@planetmaker>maybe it's a fixed depot. dunno :)
09:38<peter1139>Vehicles already go to a depot when they need to...
09:38<@planetmaker>they should, indeed
09:40<V453000>it has some uses, for example if you make an impossible conditional, the vehicle will never go to depot because it has it fulfilled in the depot already ... which can be useful for autoreplacing - trains autoreplace only when you force them to a depot; which gives you a lot of control ... not particularly good for road vehicles :D
09:41<@planetmaker>lol. But indeed, you can play the order system like that
09:41<V453000>I still think it is better to simply put your depots in the right places, but well in some specific case it might be reasonable
09:42-!-Kazune [~kazune@staticline16960.toya.net.pl] has joined #openttd
09:42<peter1139>If you need a specific depot, then you can use the service at depot order item.
09:43<V453000>that is pretty bad as you can accidentally remove that depot at any point in the game
09:43-!-Kazune [~kazune@staticline16960.toya.net.pl] has quit []
09:43<V453000>waypoint -> go to nearest depot works better
09:43<V453000>but even that is just pointless extra effort
09:43<peter1139>then you get invalid order warnings
09:44<V453000>why would you get invalid order warning
