10:24<Rallias_>Is there a way to make openttd download assets over IPv4 only?
10:30<Flygon_>You could probably turn off your IPv6 stack
10:31<Flygon_>But given you're probably actively using IPv6, I can see why you're going to say "Nice try, but can you give me a serious answer?"
10:31-!-Flygon_ is now known as Flygon
10:31<Rallias_>not necessarily actively using, just contractually mandated.
10:32<Flygon>Is it possible to null route every IPv6 address?
10:33<Rallias_>Well, that's kinda the problem.
10:33<Flygon>Oh.
10:33<Rallias_>I can't reach OpenTTDs IPv6 mirrors.
10:33<Flygon>Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh.
10:33<Flygon>Wait... so
10:34<Flygon>OpenTTD tries to use the IPv6 addresses
10:34<Flygon>Regardless of whether they work or not
10:34<Rallias_>Well.
10:34<Flygon>And this means null routing IPv6 would make the problem worse... right
10:34<Flygon>Gotcha
10:34<Flygon>Uhm...
10:34<Rallias_>Surely, if there was no IPv6 on this machine, it woulnd't try.
10:34<Flygon>Perkele
10:34<Rallias_>But it does have IPv6, and I can't reach OpenTTDs IPv6 mirror.
10:34<Flygon>Anyone here that can actually help Rallias_? ._."
10:35<@peter1138>Why can't you reach OpenTTD's IPv6 addresses?
10:35<Rallias_>http://pastebin.com/ebamvabY
10:36<Flygon>(please forgive me for being incoherent. I'm tired, but can't go to bed yet. Doing some work x.x)
10:36<@peter1138>IPv6 web server web server is unreachable : Connection timed out
10:36<@peter1138>Ok, maybe it's down...
10:36<Rallias_>:( Has it really been down for the last what... week?
10:36<@peter1138>Or maybe TrueBrain was doing temporary work on it.
10:36<Rallias_>That I've been playing?
10:50<Rallias_>Well, I guess waiting works.

14:20<andythenorth>eh
14:20<andythenorth>FIRS mess is a mess
14:21<TrueBrain>peter1138: IPv6 should work; so I will check what is going on :)
14:28<+glx>TrueBrain: 4or6 firefox extension says "The browser has used IPv4 to load the page. Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses were resolved for the remote system. This system can therefore also be accessed using IPv6 if all prerequisites for using IPv6 are met."
14:28<TrueBrain>glx: try it now :)
14:32<+glx>main site still IPv4, all other IPv6
14:32*andythenorth plays OpenTTD
14:33<TrueBrain>lovely .. firewall issues :)
14:40<andythenorth>hmm
14:40<andythenorth>do trams have crippled acceleration? Or are mine just horribly under-powered?
14:43<TrueBrain>okay, I have to remove the IPv6 address for a while, so OVH can train it is no longer on the Mac it is trying it on ..

14:51<TrueBrain>I changed the mac address on which the IPv6 should arive .. sadly, how things work, the ICMP was still accepted on the old mac too (it is on the same machine)
14:51<TrueBrain>in result, 50% of the traffic came via one IP, 50% via the other
14:51<TrueBrain>s/IP/Mac/
14:51<TrueBrain>so the firewall blocked parts of it :D

15:14<Eddi|zuHause>anybody ever get annoyed about the calendar in KDE that pops up when you click on the clock, and the biggest thing it says is not the current date, but some random date of a nearby holiday?
15:14<andythenorth>‘but you can fix that yourself'
15:15<TrueBrain>I am now firewalling IPv6 signals on the wrong interfaces .. I hope the switches quickly learn they shouldnt try it anymore :)
15:23<Eddi|zuHause>hm, that looks cute for a few fun hours: http://www.solzerogame.com/
15:23<TrueBrain>ha, found what hole was poked wrongly
15:24<TrueBrain>glx: can you confirm for me that http is working on IPv6, and also the ingame content service?
15:24<TrueBrain>hmm, it still happens packets arrive at the wrong interface ...
15:25-!-Progman_ [~progman@p57A19BAA.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #openttd
15:27<@peter1138>Oh god, my netbook is still on firefox 6
15:27<@peter1138>I can't download an update because it doesn't support newer ciphers
15:28<glx>for me http is still on IPv4
15:29<TrueBrain>even if you retry?
15:29<TrueBrain>it seems some traffic ends up on the wrong interface .. not sure why yet
15:30<glx>I can give you my IP so you can check where my traffic goes :)
15:30<TrueBrain>just retrying should fix it
15:30<TrueBrain>otherwise I Will have to continue looking

15:47<glx>TrueBrain: IPv6 is ok from a VM
15:48<glx>so I think it will fix itself
15:48<TrueBrain>restarting your browser? :D
15:48<TrueBrain>does OpenTTD ingame content work?
15:48<TrueBrain>and it seems all IPv6 now enters a single interface, so that should be resolved too
15:49<TrueBrain>okay, that was interesting ... or something :P
15:49<TrueBrain>but it should all be operational again :)
15:49<glx>restarded browser and it's ok now
15:49<TrueBrain>good :)
15:49<glx>was not after previous restart :)
15:49<glx>that's why I tried the VM
15:49<TrueBrain>yeah .. some TCP streams were still ending up wrong ..
15:50<TrueBrain>seems their switches need ~30 minutes to retrain
15:50<TrueBrain>clearly they have too many routers :)
15:50<TrueBrain>so if you can let me know if ingame is also working, then I am all happy again :)
15:53<glx>I get the list and I can download
15:53<glx>dunno if it uses v4 or v6 but it's accessible :)
15:54<TrueBrain>good
