13:37<mczapkie>Does anybody know, how to inherit all translators into newgrf project on dev.openttdcoop.org? (Inherit members checked, eints added as Translation manager, still no other translators granted)
13:39<frosch123>is your project a subproject of "newgrf" or "game scripts"?
13:40<mczapkie>newgrf
13:41<frosch123>well, which project is it?
13:41<mczapkie>https://dev.openttdcoop.org/projects/ecs-industry-extension/s
13:41<mczapkie>withoust /s
13:41<frosch123>it is a toplevel project, no subproject
13:42<frosch123>go to settings and make it a subproject of "newgrfs"

13:43<mczapkie>i have no option for 'newgrfs' in subproject of list
13:43<frosch123>maybe it's called grfdev
13:44<mczapkie>no, only some my other projects are listed
13:44<frosch123>oh, i did not know it is restriced like that
13:45<frosch123>i changed it for you
13:46<mczapkie>thanks, it works now
13:46<planetmaker>oh hi :)
13:47<mczapkie>so I forgot to define newgrf subproject during initialization and now I was doomed :)
13:50<planetmaker>happens. Nothing which isn't easily fixed. Though yes, not everyone can move projects around :)

14:18<__ln__>is it true that the netherlands is not using 1c and 2c coins anymore?
14:19<Wolf01>what are coins?
14:20<frosch123>they are similar to 2x4 lego bricks
14:20<__ln__>souvenirs
14:21<@Alberth>but round and flat instead of rectangular :p
14:21<Wolf01>oh, you meant these: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/291462783945-0-1/s-l1000.jpg
14:21<@Alberth>close enough :)
14:22<frosch123>pff, there was no such thing in lego when i used lego
14:22<@Alberth>__ln__: yes, I think so, didn't get one in ages
14:22<frosch123>you should build proper coins
14:26<@Rubidium>__ln__: lies... most shops round to 5 cent, though there are (some) shops that still give you 1 and 2 cent coins and all companies should accept them
14:29<Wolf01>if you consider that 1c and 2c coins cost more than the value impressed on them, you could get them all and try to sell them to a scrap metal recycling industry

14:33<frosch123>did the steel price increase?
14:34<Eddi|zuHause>the japanese did that with italian coins in the 70's, then that practice was made illegal
14:34<frosch123>1cent used to cost 1cent in production in 2009, but production is more expensive than what you get from scrap
14:34<Wolf01>once you hammer them, they aren't coins anymore :P
14:36<Eddi|zuHause>steel is not worth much in scrap, but copper is
14:38<frosch123>94,35% iron
14:38<frosch123>@calc 2.3*0.0565
14:38<@DorpsGek>frosch123: 0.12995
14:38<Eddi|zuHause>that's still 5% copper :p
14:39<frosch123>@calc 2.3*0.0565*3.5/1000
14:39<@DorpsGek>frosch123: 0.000454825
14:40<frosch123>yeah, you get 0.045 cent per cent
14:41<frosch123>@calc 2.3*0.0565*4.5/1000
14:41<@DorpsGek>frosch123: 0.000584775
14:42<frosch123>ok, the current rate is somewhat better
14:42<frosch123>if it was 100% copper, it would be worth it :)
14:43<Wolf01>maybe they summed production cost too, i can't find the article
14:43-!-FLHerne [~flh@dsl-217-155-24-22.zen.co.uk] has joined #openttd
14:47<Eddi|zuHause>if you assume that 20% of production cost is materials, and the 95% iron costs the same as the 5% copper, then you get a production cost of 5*2*0,05, which is 0,5
14:48<Eddi|zuHause>then sprinkle in a bit for distribuition from the mint to the banks

16:51<m1cr0man>(sorry was nick registering) I'm looking to copy my OpenTTD GRFs and stuff from my windows portable install to my linux laptop. I have tried everything, and I just can't get it to detect the GRFs im adding. On top of that, I can't find where the GRFs im downloading as a test are saving to (using find on / as root). Can anyone tell me how I would copy my GRFs?
16:52<FLHerne>m1cr0man: ~/.openttd/newgrf is where you should put them
16:52<FLHerne>Ones downloaded ingame go to ~/.openttd/content_download/newgrf
16:53<FLHerne>Similarly, savegames to ~/.openttd/save
16:54<planetmaker>a hooray to the do-not-readme, chapter 4, section 2 :)
16:55<planetmaker>http://hg.openttd.org/trunk.hg/file/tip/readme.txt#l267
16:55<FLHerne>planetmaker: Is there any way to view the readme ingame? That might help slightly
16:56<planetmaker>I don't think there is
16:56<m1cr0man>FLHerne, I was making sure, but that folder is in .config/openttd
16:56<m1cr0man>also, thats where I was trying to put the files
16:56<tipsyTentacle>:|
16:56<m1cr0man>I'm going to try again from scratch and just log exactly what im doing
16:56<FLHerne>m1cr0man: That's odd, are you using some weirdly-patched distro package?
16:56<planetmaker>m1cr0man, then it's your distro which changed the defaults
16:56<m1cr0man>Lubuntu? Should be standard ubuntu package
16:59<m1cr0man>Ok, so how would they've done that so that I can find out where the heck its putting the GRFs
16:59<planetmaker>oh... it actually depends... :)
16:59<m1cr0man>I mean, how can I change it back?
16:59<planetmaker> 285 Linux: $XDG_DATA_HOME/openttd which is usually ~/.local/share/openttd when
16:59<planetmaker> 286 built with XDG base directory support, otherwise ~/.openttd
16:59<m1cr0man>echo $XDG_DATA_HOME is blank
17:00<planetmaker>compile
17:00<planetmaker>but there's no need to change it, is there?
17:00<FLHerne>I remember it being normal ~/.openttd when I used Ubunu
17:00<FLHerne>Was a while ago though
17:01<m1cr0man>well there are configs in ~/.config/openttd
17:01<planetmaker>on my ubuntu 14.04 it's ~/.openttd
17:01<m1cr0man>and they do seem to have an effect if I change them
17:01<planetmaker>but... I didn't install from ubuntu repo
17:01<m1cr0man>my lubuntu is 15.04 based
17:01<m1cr0man>oh, I might do that
17:01<planetmaker>use our build ;)
17:02<planetmaker>anyway, the place where it's stored doesn't matter as long as you know it...
17:03<m1cr0man>alright :
17:03<m1cr0man>:P *
17:03<m1cr0man>Im just so impressed that its hiding dl'ed grf's from me. They must be in an archive with some random name

17:04<planetmaker>it's not hiding them. Everything downloaded from ingame is shipped in tar archives
17:04-!-rellig [~rellig@minad.de] has joined #openttd
17:05<m1cr0man>Ok, and are they given non-relative file names?
17:05<planetmaker>as openttd transparently reads those, it keeps the grfs inside those, nicely bundled with their documentation
17:05<m1cr0man>From the GRFs I have from windows, the tar name matches the GRF
17:06<planetmaker>our content deliver doesn't distinguish your OS; filenames are the same
17:07<planetmaker>*delivery
17:07<m1cr0man>Alright, well thats that confirmed. Thanks
17:07<planetmaker>if openttd finds the newgrfs in one of its search paths, they'll be available
17:08<planetmaker>what *does* differ between OS is the path separator used in your openttd.cfg as windoze uses \ instead of /
17:08<planetmaker>thus any newgrf preset might be broken
17:08<planetmaker>but that shouldn't matter for any existing game
17:10<m1cr0man>wow, I found it. In game, its listed in lower case.
17:10<m1cr0man>its actually storing it in ~/.local/share/openttd too
