23:30<n1ck>I'm trying to compile a xen kernel, however it fails trying to clone the git repo for pvops
23:31<n1ck>I'm performing a make prep-kernels, and it's failing, with the remote side terminating the connection
23:31<caker>from where?
23:33<n1ck>inside the xen source directory
23:35<caker>I mean what did you start with?
23:36<n1ck>this is a fresh install, it's running 2.6.32-21 generic on ubuntu.
23:36<n1ck>so I did the make xen dance in the xen src dir.
23:36<caker>you're using ubuntu's sources? You probably don't want that
23:36<n1ck>nah, xen sources
23:36<caker>ok - from xenbits?
23:37<caker>which one? You need to be specific :)
23:37<n1ck>I'm apparently missing something
23:37<n1ck>what should i be looking at, pardon my ignorance
23:37<n1ck>yeah, sorry, from xenbits
23:38<n1ck>I grabbed the xen 4.0.1 sources from xenbits, did the compile and install
23:38<n1ck>but if I manually try to clone a git repo it fails. this machine is directly connected to the inet, no firewalls, filters, or any other interference. just straight net.
23:43<n1ck>this command will fail git clone -o xen -n git:// linux-2.6-pvops.git.tmp
23:43<caker>is git-core installed? :)
23:44<n1ck>yessir. it will fail with the error fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
