02:17<cesurasean>any advice?
02:22<ntbnnt>compress it in a physical enviroment

02:22<ntbnnt>alrighty then
02:22<cesurasean>I want to copy it with tar
02:22<ntbnnt>then do with it as you please
02:22<cesurasean>I tried rsync, but it doesn't work out too well maybe because it's going on an NTFS filesystem, and it's ext3
02:23<ntbnnt>its a large file
02:23<ntbnnt>got gigabit
02:23<cesurasean>you mean if I tar it?
02:23<cesurasean>good point
02:23<cesurasean>that's the downside
02:23<cesurasean>do you think maybe rsync is not copying files over because it's NTFS and not ext3?
02:24<ntbnnt>i would recommend you use some of that gigabit goodness

02:25<ntbnnt>i'm not positive, check some documentation
02:25<ntbnnt>i don't see why it would care
02:28<cesurasean>yeah batteries were dead
02:28<cesurasean>that was gay
02:28<cesurasean>you should upgrade
02:28<cesurasean>wireless mouse is nice

Thought u might like to know, found out that for 4.0 r0, the cd I was using this was a known issue in machines with multiple ide controllers. I'm reinstalling an 4.0 r3 cause kept getting failed boots waiting for root even with UUIDs, IDs and LABELS in fstab. Thanks a million for your help though. 03:21<sandrinux>hi all. I have just installed etch via netinstall CD , then I did the upgrade to lenny changing the apt sources file (etch->lenny) . The problem is that my wireless intel 3945 don't works. Googoling I found that in the new kernel I have to use the nex firmware-iwlwifi , and not the old ipw3945 module. So I try a "apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi" but it doesn't work...:-\ can you please tell me how to do ?

04:23<jaski> Hi, I'm running legacy h/w (366 MHz celeron, with 2x4GB ITE drives and 1x160GB usb drive on my onboard 1 MB/sec. USB). One 4GB drive is needed for Win98 :( and the other is almost full of Etch. My question: is it reasonable to move any significant part (say 1 GB) of the Debian inst. to the usb drive?

10:06<gizmokaka>should i m-a install that module? maybe it's not installed?
10:06<erKURITA>modprobe, not modprove
10:07<gizmokaka>yeh of course, it's a misspelling made only here
10:07<erKURITA>and it's modprobe -l thermal_zone
10:07<erKURITA>also, make sure it's the right name
10:08<erKURITA>otherwise, you'll have to m-a the module
10:08<gizmokaka>well I looked it up in m-a but couldn't find thermal_zone there
10:09<gizmokaka>BTW, why the -l ?
10:09<gizmokaka>without it i received an error the thermal_zone doesn't exist
10:10<erKURITA>does your motherboard even has support for thermal measure?
10:10<erKURITA>the -l lists modules
