15:29<dpkg>from memory, non-us is where we put software that cannot be distributed from the USA. For woody, use "deb woody/non-US main contrib non-free" in sources.list, and deb-src if you want sources. Changes in legislation mean that post-Woody, there is no non-us, so you don't need it for Sarge, Etch or Sid. Ask me about "crypto". for the few remaining packages, see
15:29<blarson>lukas: There can also be restrictions about distribution for profit.
15:29<goodger>valdyn: typed precisely as you sent it, it lists the directories again
15:29<valdyn>lukas: non-us really just was only about encryption software, and that law is gone
15:29<valdyn>goodger: it lists subdirectories of boot, doesn't it?

21:06<prahal>freazer, you did the hack they told you on the channel we were beforehand ?
21:07<prahal>freazer, what is the error and what exactly where the step before it broke ?
21:07<freazer>prahal: No, can you point me to that channel or that fix so that I can try it, sorry if this is the wrong place
21:08<prahal>oh sorry I though you where the same freazer I saw talking in #ubuntu ( . I did not followed in details but saw some weirds commands
21:08<prahal>though I have a pretty extensive background at breaking my dpkg and restoring it (though sometimes ... it takes time)
21:09<freazer>oh, that was probably me ^^;
21:09<abrotman>freazer: if you're here for ubuntu support, you'll have to go elsewhere

21:09<freazer>abrotman: I'm fairly certain this has nothing to do with Ubuntu.. thanks a lot for outting me prahal :-p
21:10<abrotman>freazer: we do not support ubuntu here, go to #ubuntu or ##linux on freenode
21:10<prahal>freazer, if you want we can pm if the channel is not appropriate
21:10<freazer>I try to do anything with dpkg and it says: "E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. So I run that and I get: "Fatal: Not all RAID-1 disks are active; use '-H' to install to active disks only dpkg: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1" -- I can successfully run lilo -H but that doesn't fix dpkg. I run dpkg -r -a to get rid of the pending b
21:10<freazer>I'm fairly certain mdadm, initramfs, and dpkg are all purely debian?
21:10<prahal>not that I support ubuntu but I feel that I should have told something before bad things happened . Only I was not concentrated and did not reacted fast enough

21:13<prahal>freazer, the thing is that there are some changes in the packages and the installers . Yup the channel is not appropriate regarding the myriade of ways the packaging intervene in the breakage you report
